Ascend Coaching was founded by Steven Bennett, a Doncaster-based success coach who built a business approaching £20 million in revenue, lost everything that mattered in the process, and rebuilt his life from the ground up using a structured

framework of daily habits, honest self-awareness and the courage to ask for help.
That personal journey is not a footnote to what Ascend Coaching does. It is the reason Ascend Coaching exists.
Who Ascend Coaching Works With
Ascend Coaching works with ambitious business owners, entrepreneurs, professionals and leaders who carry real pressure and responsibility every day. People who have worked hard, achieved a great deal and built lives that look successful from the outside, but who privately feel stuck, exhausted, directionless or disconnected from the version of themselves that started the climb in the first place.
This is a specific kind of struggle. It rarely gets named or validated in the way it deserves, because the people experiencing it are usually the last people anyone would expect to need support. They are the ones holding everything together for everyone else. They are the ones who always seem fine.
Ascend Coaching gives that experience a name, a space and a way forward.
The Story Behind the Coaching
Steven Bennett spent years building a business from nothing, eventually taking it to the brink of £20 million in turnover. From the outside, it looked like everything he had ever worked for. From the inside, he was delivering motivational speeches to his team while counting down the minutes until he could get back to his car and breathe. Depression, alcohol dependency, drug use and severe anxiety were all hidden behind a smile and a sharp suit.
His marriage reached breaking point. He found himself homeless. One night, sitting alone in the dark, he arrived at a stark realisation: if he carried on the way he was going, he would not survive it.
What followed was a slow, unglamorous and deeply honest recovery. With the support of his wife Jill, life coach Kam Johal and therapist Dean Learoyd, Steven began rebuilding himself from the inside out. He gave up alcohol and drugs cold turkey. He developed a daily Power Hour, a morning practice of meditation, journalling, gratitude, reading and movement that became the foundation of everything that followed. He trained in NLP, studied behavioural change and became a certified coach. He began helping other people who recognised themselves in his story.
That is how Ascend Coaching was born. From honesty, connection and the lived experience of knowing exactly what it feels like to have built something significant and still feel completely lost.
The Coaching Journey
Ascend Coaching is designed as a progressive journey rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. Every client begins in the same place, with an honest assessment of where they currently are, and moves forward at a pace that is real and sustainable.
The journey begins with the Life Audit, a free self-assessment tool designed to help individuals identify where their energy is being lost, where their life feels out of balance and what they genuinely want to be different. The Life Audit is not a quiz. It is a moment of honest reflection, and for many people it is the first time they have sat with these questions seriously.
From the Life Audit, clients are invited into Basecamp, the free Ascend Coaching community, where they receive regular guidance, resources and connection with others on a similar journey. Basecamp is the starting point, not the destination.
For those ready to go deeper, Ascend Coaching offers structured programmes designed around long-term, sustainable growth rather than short-term motivation. The flagship programme, Elevate and Conquer, combines personal and professional development in a way that treats the two as completely inseparable, because experience shows that they are. The programme is delivered online, making Ascend Coaching accessible to clients across the UK and beyond.
For those seeking a more intensive experience, premium one-to-one coaching with Steven is available through the Everest programme, offering a deeply personal and structured engagement built around the individual client's specific situation, goals and challenges.
The Approach
Ascend Coaching does not deal in generic motivation, surface-level positivity or overnight solutions. The coaching is grounded, honest and tailored to the individual. Sessions are calm, intelligent and focused on what is actually happening rather than what looks good on a vision board.
The positioning is deliberately premium. Ascend Coaching is built for people who are sceptical of shallow coaching, who have heard enough about mindset and alignment and want something that actually connects with the reality of their lives. People who are already successful, already busy and already under pressure, and who deserve support that meets them where they are rather than where a programme thinks they should be.
The Book
Steven Bennett published his debut book, If It Is to Be, It Is Up to Me, in 2026. The book charts his personal journey from rock bottom to recovery and beyond, using a mountain metaphor to explore the habits, mindsets and daily practices that carried him through. It covers self-awareness, resilience, physical health, connection, adaptability and gratitude, all grounded in personal experience rather than theory.
The foreword was written by Alex Beevis, bestselling author and CEO of The Everyman Project, who describes the book as a mirror rather than a blueprint: honest, human and written for anyone who has ever achieved everything they thought they wanted and still felt empty.

Why It Matters
The pressure placed on ambitious, capable people is often invisible. It does not look like struggle from the outside. The people Ascend Coaching works with are often the last people anyone would think needed support, which is precisely why so many of them have been carrying it alone for so long.
Ascend Coaching exists to change that. To give ambitious people a space where the reality of their experience is understood, taken seriously and met with something genuinely useful.
