I was allowed to listen to a lecture by Detlef and can not only agree with his statements, but can confirm them from my own experience.
After the Berlin airport, Stuttgart 21 and the Elbe Philharmonic Hall, one could assume that projects are doomed to fail. But far from it!
Yes, project management is risky. Yes, projects are often paved with obstacles. Does this directly mean that project management no longer works? No, not at all! Detlef proves with his statement that project management is an art that needs to be mastered and that even in escalating situations a cool head is important.
Detlef takes up the cudgels for project managers and for that I am not only grateful, but I recommend every company that implements large projects to invite Detlef to a speech - or to make use of him and his skills directly.
Thank you for an entertaining yet important plea for us project managers.
