In the summer of 2018, I, and later my partner, bought a concept at immotwist. Insurances (-agents) were too unserious for us so far or I just don't trust any insurances, which is why we haven't done anything for old age so far. Real estate was not conceivable for us before, because we are not necessarily among the top earners and the "stress factor", in addition to the risk, pushed the option completely out of the field of vision.
About the consultation: The consultations were very pleasant at eye level, very interesting, but also complex, since quite a lot of background knowledge (regarding finances, construction, tax, inflation, etc.) is necessary. I had the feeling that my counterpart was really interested in me and honestly wanted me to understand what was happening with my money and with me.
Since many points really appealed to me with the concept but also many thoughtful voices in the circle of acquaintances acted on me, have me personally ultimately 3 things to 100% convinced:
1. this property does not belong to an insurance company, but to me alone. My name is in the land register and I can decide for myself what happens to it.
2. I get my money transferred to the account every month without having to worry about finding tenants or other stress factors with tenants.
3. the rental concept. I find the thought simply unique that older people in my apartment well cared for, dignified and happy life. Everyone appreciates this at the latest when they have to look for such an alternative for family reasons. Thinking a little into the future: my parents have done nothing for either old-age or long-term care provision. I am very reassured that I also have a plan B for my parents at hand if the topic of "care" should ever come into focus.
