Dear Mark - Thank you for the touching and emotional talk yesterday in Schwerin. As I have had to overcome a few life crises myself, I felt very moved and was able to empathize with and confirm much of what you said. Your experiences really got "under my skin". A very authentic presentation that does not necessarily need a specific target group to be effective. Almost everyone can build a "bridge" from the experiences shared and draw parallels to their own - albeit far less dramatic - situations. The resilience impulses are highly applicable in a professional environment and can be easily mirrored in team and leadership situations (naturally also suitable for private situations 😃). All of us have certainly had to (or been allowed to) overcome one crisis or another. I was able to recognize myself in many points. In some situations, we certainly act unconsciously, instinctively, and the lecture helped me once again to understand my own actions and, above all, to develop them further. I found the phase in the victim role very clear - the art here is to switch from the passive phase back to the active phase.

I spoke, experienced and heard Marc. In the middle of the forest. His story gave me goosebumps, not because of the shocking experience of a kidnapping, not because of the uncertain prospect of rescue, but because of the attitude he showed in this enormous pressure and crisis situation to develop confidence! It was therefore a special experience for me to reflect on his experiences with him and to formulate suggestions and impulses for resilience in times of crisis. The resulting video of the two of us will soon be available on LinkedIn. Take the time, it's worth it 😉 I'm already looking forward to our next meeting, dear Marc.

Marc gave the opening lecture for medical students at the University of Bonn on the topic of 'Dealing with extreme situations'. Every day in our everyday lives, we are confronted with existential fates and unfortunately we cannot always help. No one in the healthcare sector, regardless of which area they work in, is unaffected by this, but unfortunately we don't really learn how to deal with it in our training without losing our empathy. You don't have resilience, you have to learn it. In an extremely powerful presentation, Marc showed us ways to become strong inside in crises, only then can we convey this to our patients. Thank you very much Marc for your great commitment.
