The Ofenloch restaurant is located in one of the oldest alleys in Vienna and invites you to enjoy refined classics of Austrian cuisine away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. In a cozy old-Viennese ambience, our courteous service team... serves classic delicacies such as Wiener Schnitzel, Tafelspitz or Kaiserschmarren. The seasonally changing menu impresses with regionality and ingenuity. Local wines are served with it - with a focus on Viennese vintners.
Our Schanigarten in the quiet Kurrentgasse also invites you to linger from April to October. We will also be happy to whisk you away to our historic vaulted cellar, where in the depths of our landmarked house - over a glass of Ofenloch wine - we will give you an insight into the world of Viennese wine.
It's difficult to identify the one thing I was most impressed in, since this restaurant — from the decor and ambience, to the staff and service, to the ingredients, presentation, and quality of the dishes / courses — is simply excellent. But based on my most recent experience, just a day ago, I think I was most impressed with the lack of a mercenary attitude (unlike other places that are popular with tourists) and the fundamental commitment to providing an enjoyable, memorable, and highly pleasant experience to diners. And this extends from the initial communications with staff and administration, to the moment of sitting down at the table. Immediately, any worries or concerns I had (as the de facto leader of a large group of diners) that our frequent changes in group size and composition before arrival at the restaurant would somehow cause problems, were immediately dispelled. It was thus an absolutely fantastic dining experience in a traditional environment, accompanied by classic Viennese personalities as waiters, and with excellent dishes prepared to perfection.
The service as well as the starters and main courses were consistently very good. The apple strudel could have done with more sugar and more vanilla sauce, unfortunately it was a little dry. Apart from that, the volume was a bit too high due to other guests, so we also had to speak louder. It would have been nice if we could have closed the door. But in general we were very satisfied.
Top service at a dinner with international business partners. Charming waiter with "Viennese charm" also looked after the guests well in English, quality of the food very good! Gladly again at any time!
Very courteous and fast service, excellent food, beautiful location in the historic center of Vienna, uncomplicated organization, good menu suggestions for groups.
We had a 5-course dinner with 21 people on the occasion of our conference in Vienna. And it was exactly what we had planned. A very good meal in a local atmosphere with very good service. Our international guests liked it very much.
Delicious food and drinks, very pleasant service in a wonderful atmosphere. This is the way to enjoy Vienna! The restaurant visit was a highlight of our Vienna trip.

We had a nice evening at the Ofenloch, the service on site was great and also provided a few humorous moments. The food was delicious and everyone was full, the feedback from our guests was that they liked the Wiener Schnitzel and the wine recommendations.
It's a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing wines, food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations.
We had a very atmospheric and fun evening with excellent food and drinks. We will definitely remember the Ofenloch for future events.
