I had damage to a lens which hit a rock together with the camera due to a defective tripod clamp. So in principle it was my own fault. The employees are easy to reach by phone and the advice is friendly and goal-oriented. I am delighted.
I have insured all my photo equipment here. My favorite lens (Canon EF 2.0 135mm) fell out of my backpack and it is a total economic loss. Inquiries are answered very quickly - change requests, e.g. when purchasing new or additional equipment, are processed very quickly and the insurance coverage applies after only a few days - in the event of damage, the processing is also very fast and impeccable. Repair approvals and reimbursement are made within a few days. In such cases, you can see that you are taken seriously as a customer. An insurance company and a team that deliver what they promise.

Perfect, fast and friendly claims handling for my repair (repair cost €1,700) of a Sony lens. There is nothing that could be improved. Felt in good and fair hands with the insurance broker Pöpping and Generali as insurer.
The claims settlement was quick and uncomplicated. Some specifications (e.g. "photo of the damaged item from all sides, even if the damage is not visible" seem a bit excessive, but in practice it turns out that this can be settled reasonably.
Claims settlement over months. Written promises are made that later do not count.
If one gets help with the regulation, this is reproached to one later and one crosses. This insurance or this broker has seen me the last time!
Unfortunately, you have posted your criticism anonymously so that I can not check your process. Basically, I would like to emphasize that we are always on the side of our customers and together with you to enforce each claim as best as possible with the insurer. A months-long claim settlement there is actually not, this can only be the case if important documents for submission to the insurer were missing or the repair was carried out very late.
I have been a satisfied customer of Pöpping for years with several insurances. In the past as a hobby and today as a professional photographer, I get the best coverage at more than fair conditions here. Of course, the best insurance is the one you never need. But if something does happen, I want competent help, and you really get it here, as I can tell you from my own experience.
We came across the site by chance when we googled for used Canon equipment and came across the used price list. After a bit of back and forth, we decided to take out camera insurance, since we travel a lot and often have certain values that are quickly underestimated.
