We had originally booked the husky sled tour in Finland and requested flights from Frankfurt and Cyprus. We were advised by telephone that an identical tour is offered in Swedish Lapland just a few kilometers on the other side of the border, but that it is better connected by air via Stockholm and Kiruna. Top advice!
The tour was super great! A clear recommendation for a 5-day sled tour. It's the only way to learn how to handle a sled and for the team of dogs and handler to grow together. It was very, very sad to say goodbye...
The only small restriction: the packing list meant that we both had to leave almost a full suitcase at camp. Don't take any cotton items with you, as they can't be dried. I had bought special boots down to -40°C and was really happy with them, as the borrowed boots (similar construction) were quite worn out and sometimes full of holes. Good boots are very important, as you stand on the runners for hours and your boots are covered in snow, sometimes with ice water flowing over the frozen layer of ice on the river (overflow).
Provider and tour: a clear recommendation!
