As a young person, you are approached by all kinds of financial and insurance advisors. Since you don't learn what to look out for in school, nor were my parents any help, I was also curious. You quickly notice that many of them go after customers according to a pattern, which doesn't have to be bad at all. In any case, it's better to do at least something for financial freedom than to ignore the topic.
After MLP and Horbach, neither of which really convinced me, I finally landed at the Hamann branch. It's small things at first glance, but they make a big difference for me. Actually, you can almost compare it to choosing a doctor. You try to understand what is recommended to you, but in the end trust is also important.
At OVB Hamann, they always took the time to answer my many questions. I was never rushed or pressured here. The atmosphere there is not as cold as is typical in the financial sector.
What I like best is the proactive approach. For example, I took out disability insurance. It was the best choice at the time because this insurance was not as strict as others when it came to health questions. After several years, OVB then got in touch with me to say that a better and more favorable contract had since been considered for me. I think that's great! Incidentally, I would not have guessed how much reassurance it gives to have such insurance.
If an insurance claim comes up, I don't have to deal with the insurance company directly, but still have OVB to help me report the damage correctly, for example. I haven't had a conflict yet, but in such a case it's certainly not bad to have another mediating authority.
I also get help with financial issues that have nothing to do with the brokered products.
For me, the concept makes perfect sense. I can only recommend anyone who is not a financial expert themselves to seek one out.
