I have approached the topic of options trading via YouTube videos and realized that I find the topic very exciting, but my way is quite laborious and somehow no security arises in the topic.
I then booked the online beginner's course from Freaky Finance and have not regretted it.
In the course is first explained what options trading is basically and how to trade with the TraderWorkStation. (I also found that part on Youtube&Co - but was much more elaborate for me). Afterwards, however, it is about the concrete selection of stocks for options trading and about possibilities to implement strategies with it. In the basics, a relatively defensive approach is taught and advised against "gambling" discouraged - for the beginner just right I think.
In the second part of the course, trades are discussed together and (who likes) also traded. Gradually, the course becomes more and more characterized by the questions of the participants and an exchange develops among each other. At first, this seems a bit chaotic, as there are quite different levels of knowledge among the participants. Over time, however, this becomes more and more equalized. Those who actively ask questions can gain an unbelievably wide range of benefits. But even those who are less active in asking questions can get a lot of benefit from the questions of the others.
All sessions are recorded as video and are available permanently (for how long?). So if you want to catch up on something or missed a session, you can do so individually.
Outstanding(!) is availability of Freaky Finance also for questions outside the sessions. I don't know how he manages it, but actually you always get an answer (to whatever moves you) within the shortest time. Sometimes there are also inspirations for trades. He also helps when an option needs to be managed and a rookie is still unsure what to do.
This "accompaniment" continues via a common course chat even after the end of the sessions - but in the course of time the questions are also answered and discussed by other participants. Very helpful!
Conclusion:
Even after the course you are not yet a professional options trader - but you have the start, the basic tools and like-minded people in the chat. This is a very good way to gain initial experience and further hone your personal strategy, while managing the risk yourself.
For the price you get in any case a very good package for options entry. Even those who do not know whether the topic of options is something for them in the long term will not regret it.
I would book the course again and find the topic "options" still very exciting! (In retrospect, I should have done it earlier).
Thanks Freaky!
