Thanks to IBB, I was finally able to realize my dream of becoming a media designer!
I divide my evaluation as follows:
1. the location and the staff
2. the lecturers
3. the organization
4. the online training room "Viona

Location
I signed up for my 2-year retraining on short notice. This went off without any major complications. I quickly applied for an education voucher and the retraining started within a few weeks.
The staff at the location were always friendly. Sure, they sometimes forgot something or made mistakes, but that was immediately acknowledged and improved.
The staff at the location changed from year to year, and the IBB location also moved to a different street. Both are things that are perfectly okay, but I would have liked to be informed about both, because I was in the internship at the time.
The Corona protection measures or hygiene concept was well implemented.
When it went Corona-conditioned to the HomeOffice, it was acted quickly and effectively. You were allowed to take the complete PC with monitors etc. home with you and at home you could use the system and all the programs you needed without any restrictions.
If there were any IT problems, I let them know at the location and within a few hours - and as requested outside of class hours - an admin logged in via TeamViewer and found a solution to the problem.
Only once - while I was attending class - was there an unannounced visit by an admin to my training computer to read hardware information. This was - according to staff from the site - urgent and necessary.
The IBB staff at the site provided good support in the search for an internship, as well as with the letter of application.
Even though my retraining did not include an intermediate examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, my wish to take one was accepted, I was registered for it as soon as possible, and IBB covered the costs.
The teaching material (books, calculators, etc.) - most of which we had received at the beginning of the retraining - was new and intact. We were even allowed to keep most of it as our property.

Lecturers
The lecturers are like teachers in school. Some you like, others you don't. Some make the lessons interesting, some rather boring.
At the beginning, we had a teacher who bombarded us daily with many different topics per lesson, so that my classmates and I were quite overwhelmed.
With most of the lecturers you could talk openly about everything and they helped where they could.
Our "class teacher" was always nice and friendly, was helpful and patient.
What I liked was that the lessons were "live". There were no pre-made videos or webinars, but always lecturers with whom you could communicate.
In addition, my classmates and I were given access to Linkedin Learning, where we could look at some topics again in the practical lessons or learn something new in our free time.

The Organization
The organization was sometimes good and sometimes bad. There were lecturers who did not appear (without informing us) or appeared although they were sick and could not speak.
There were lecturers who did not actively organize the lessons, but were only present because we were busy with projects. However, we would have liked to have had lessons anyway, because we had enough time for the projects in the practical lessons (self-employment time) and some lessons during the projects might have helped us.
There was hardly any feedback from the lecturers on learning success checks, group or individual projects and we often had to wait several weeks or even months for our grade. Feedback would have been helpful with regard to exam preparation.

The online classroom
In principle a well planned software, where no one is forced to webcam or voice transmission, one can participate well together in the lessons and can also use screen transmissions. However, the program often had technical problems, some of which we could not explain ourselves. Viona was just a diva from time to time.
The idea of screen transmissions in the middle of the training room is a good idea, but you have to drag the program that you want to show to the others smaller (or this worked automatically). This had the disadvantage that one could badly represent/present much. In addition, the image quality and frame rate are not very pleasant.
The sound in Viona is not set separately, but via the system sound, which is pretty uncool.
On the positive side, you could use the classrooms - up to a certain time - outside of class hours and there were side rooms for group work or individual meetings.

My opinion.
All that glitters is not gold.
Nevertheless, I found the retraining pretty good and has brought me a lot further in life. I am grateful that I was able to take advantage of this opportunity and that I received support from all sides (IBB, instructors, job center, internship, etc.).
