The artist Joseph Sullivan uses the 15th century mischtechnik of oil and resin glazes and tempera to paint on wooden panels. Landscapes and portraits in oil are also made - and drawings and paintings in tempera on paper - at a studio in Stansted, an hour from London on the border of Essex and Hertfordshire.
