I started my own business as an engineer and wanted to plan my venture thoroughly from the very beginning. During the startup coaching sessions, my business model, technical feasibility, cost structure, and planned investments were examined in great detail. It was particularly helpful to work together on the business plan and financial projections, because we didn’t just use general figures—we took into account specific assumptions regarding material costs, development expenses, ongoing operating costs, and potential project revenues.

I also found it very positive that my startup advisor drew my attention to additional government funding opportunities. They searched for suitable grants for my technical project at no cost, and as a result, I’ve since been able to apply for additional grants. On my own, I probably wouldn’t have found these programs at all—or would have misjudged them. Overall, the coaching was very valuable to me because my project was understood from a technical perspective, and I can now launch my business with a significantly better structure and financing outlook.

I completed my startup coaching program at Lila Lions with Franziska, and I’m very satisfied with the entire experience.

Especially at the beginning of a startup, many questions and uncertainties arise, and often you don’t know exactly where to start at first. The coaching addressed all these topics individually and in detail. My questions were always answered clearly, and my concerns were taken seriously. As a result, I felt very well guided and supported throughout the entire coaching process.

I’d especially like to highlight that not only was Franzi herself very dedicated, helpful, and knowledgeable, but so were all the other team members as well. I always felt that I was taken seriously and that I could reach out with questions at any time.

The coaching didn’t just cover general topics; it was specifically tailored to my personal situation and my individual challenges. This allowed me to better understand many of the interconnections and to launch my startup with significantly more clarity and confidence.

I came to Lila Lions for startup coaching on a friend’s recommendation and had a good feeling about it right from the start. From the initial consultation to choosing a coach and applying for the startup grant, everything was handled very clearly, professionally, and pleasantly straightforward.

I especially appreciated that everything was offered under one roof, so I didn’t have to coordinate multiple contacts or service providers. My coach was an experienced management consultant herself, which was a perfect fit for my own work as a management consultant. As a result, our discussions weren’t just theoretical—they were very practical and directly tailored to my project. I was also very lucky with the Employment Agency, as my contact there was very knowledgeable and the process went smoothly. Overall, the coaching was truly excellent for me and helped me a great deal.

We learned about Lila Lions through a recommendation. We founded a startup in the drone technology sector and faced many challenges and tasks that didn’t necessarily call for standard solutions. After an informative initial consultation with Daniel, we applied for and received the AVGS grant from the employment agency. It seems we were lucky with our employment agency, as the process was very quick and our advisor provided excellent support. We were then assigned an experienced coach who not only helped us develop a business and financial plan but also created marketing strategies and discussed the most important aspects of starting a business. In addition to the startup grant, we also received funding from a research and development fund that we do not have to repay. Many thanks again to Daniel and Pascal.

I started my own business as a business coach and was initially quite disappointed because the processing at the Employment Agency took a long time, and in the end, I wasn’t eligible for the startup grant. I’m still in the middle of a legal dispute with the Employment Agency over this. During the coaching, however, they immediately looked into what other grants in North Rhine-Westphalia I might be eligible for, and I received really good support in that process. I appreciated that they didn’t just follow a cookie-cutter approach, but instead looked at my case individually. In the end, I felt much more confident about getting started, even though only 30 hours of coaching were approved.

I started my own business with Uber, and at first I didn’t really know how it all worked. Through the coaching, everything was explained to me, including all the details about registration and the business plan.

In the end, I was able to get the startup grant and am now off to a good start. Without help, I would have made a lot of mistakes; this way, everything was much easier.

I started my own business as an insurance broker and didn't want to just take a chance on the start. The coaching took place over five weeks as live online coaching, which worked very well for me because I could plan the appointments flexibly. What I found immediately pleasant was that we were on first-name terms right from the start. That made the conversations much more relaxed and allowed us to talk more openly about ideas, but also about uncertainties.

My coach really knew the industry. We not only created the business plan, but also talked a lot about the practical side—how to position yourself as a broker, which target groups make sense, and what mistakes many people make in the beginning. Especially when it came to topics such as figures, planning, and funding opportunities, it was good to have someone who had already supported many start-ups.

With the business and financial plan, I was then able to apply for the start-up grant, which was also approved. In addition, I received funding from the state of Baden-Württemberg, which of course helped me a lot in the beginning. Without the coaching, I would probably have made some things much more complicated or overlooked important points.

When I wanted to start my own business as an AI consultant, I actually assumed that I would hardly need any technical input and that the coaching would be more about formalities. I was all the more surprised that my coach was sometimes even more knowledgeable about AI than I was and was able to give me valuable new perspectives on use cases, positioning, and market potential.

In addition to these substantive insights, we worked out the business and financial plan together and structured my project in such a way that it was clearly comprehensible to funding agencies and the Employment Agency. Highly recommended if you want to start your own business.
