African Dreamtravel

We have been to different countries in Southern/Eastern Africa many times now. The last three trips we have done with African Dreamtravel, as self-drivers and also as guided private tours. We are convinced of the experience of the team, the organization and the service. Also upcoming trips we will surely plan with Harald & team!

Our first African experience was to be Namibia and for the first time in decades we decided to use a tour operator because we lacked experience. Normally I do not see the added value and like to do everything exactly as I want it. African Dreamtravel not only convinced us of itself but also thrilled us.

From the initial contact to the individual consultation, the super great visualized and extensive offer to great photo tips. Every change request was discussed and a great solution was found. The result was our very personal Namibia trip. Nothing but also nothing could have been done better.

Then the Corona debacle in 2020 and we had to postpone our trip for personal reasons. We had great advice and discussions and in the end no frustrated provider but the best service and the postponement worked out perfectly. Coronatechnisch has kept us super up to date and so we then started a year later happy.

At the airport we were picked up, got not only the perfect rental car handover but also the most beautiful rental car far and wide, maps, additional info, small gifts and still a detailed discussion of the trip. All questions were answered in the best way. The superlatives are getting on your nerves? Helps nothing. It was simply so.

On the road, of course, questions arise from time to time, which are quickly clarified / explained by the on-site support via chat or phone call. Thanks for that!

Katja and her team have organized an absolute dream vacation in Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. And that with only 5 days notice because we traveled spontaneously. She knows every accommodation, every street and sight from her own experience and put together the perfect package together with us in a personal video conversation. I have already traveled several times in Africa and can recommend her without reservation!

We are not easy customers as we always book at very short notice and always had to make changes.

Yes, thank you for the help with the route and your tips and also that you were during the trip for us as a contact person to the sides. Our self-drive trip was partly a challenge. We knew that the roads are bad but SO bad we had not expected. All in all, we liked it super well. Regarding one or the other lodge we would have expected something better but ok. We would have given more stars if it had been possible! A special thanks to Katja but also to the whole rest of the team. The planning was a 1 with asterisks and the process absolutely impeccable. We had at all times the feeling to be in good hands and felt comfortable. The accommodations were overwhelming for the most part and exceeded our expectations. We received great helpful tips both in advance and upon arrival in Windhoek and thus started the 18-day round trip with peace of mind. We can recommend African Dreamtravel 100 percent and our next Africa vacation is definitely coming. Thank you very much again!

I did not want to miss the opportunity to thank you again for the wonderful planning and support for our personal "African Dreamtravel" trip.
My wife and I enjoyed every minute of our vacation, everything was even more beautiful and impressive than we had hoped for. We are still quite inspired....
We felt safe and comfortable at all times, also thanks to your perfect preparation, all the planning went smoothly and we had "the time of our life".
We will recommend you at any time and will 100% plan our next Africa trip with you again.
Short "critique":
1. Okonjima Plains Camp - incredibly warm staff especially the manager(?) "CJ"), familiar and happy atmosphere, beautiful lodge, great guides, lots of information about the country and people and the work of the Africat Foundation, exciting leopard tracking tour with John M, insanely beautiful pictures of leopards, cheetahs and even lions ...
2. Etosha Oberland Lodge - breathtakingly beautiful lodge, almost Hollywood atmosphere, busy waterhole, extremely friendly and accommodating staff, sensational food, great safaris into Etosha National Park, overall just "ridiculously beautiful" ...
3. Mushara Lodge - again extremely friendly staff, again great safari into Etosha a. o. to the best waterhole (Chudop), in the lodge atmospheric dinner with music interlude of the staff, funny wildlife in the lodge area (mongooses, warthogs ... 😉 )
4th Waterberg Guest Farm - somewhat sleepy staff (where do they all hide?) but also just a real farm with the only dogs we saw on the trip! Perhaps the most beautiful accommodation of the trip with a view of the Waterberg and a wonderful dinner at the long table with stimulating conversations with the other guests. Excursions to and ascent of the impressive Waterberg on your own.
5. Gocheganas Lodge - another highlight at the end, incredibly beautiful location, sundowner tour with the best of all guides (Nicklaus), again a lot of wildlife, gin and tonic near the rhinos, wonderful end to a real dream vacation.

By the way: great briefing on arrival in Windhoek, transfer to the car rental, Bianca with last, important tips handed us a really impeccable vehicle from GoNamibia, the direct flights with Eurowings Discover have been worth the extra cost in any case, the premium economy upgrade for the return flight was a boon (Thanks Harald!), I would try next time from the outset and in both directions to book so.

In short: it could not be nicer! Africa trips, we will in any case as already written above at any time and always happy to plan with you, that much is certain!

We had a very great trip, very nice hotels and lodges! There was always a contact person at African Dreamtravel. For the next trip to Africa we will contact the agency again!

Our self drive trip worked well, the car was quite new and very comfortable. The accommodations again very good, with wonderful food. Also at the 3x we will choose African Dreamtravel.

We had already booked our Uganda trip with subsequent beach stay on Zanzibar in 2019, but due to corona the trip had to be postponed twice. During the entire time we were always in contact with African Dreamtravel and were also reliably cared for over the two-year waiting period. In 2022 we finally set off. In Entebbe Nasser, our very good German speaking driver and guide, was waiting for us. He accompanied us the whole 15 days through Uganda and showed us the country with all its facets - including many close encounters with people, animals and flora. We learned an incredible amount about the country, its people and traditions. The highlight of the trip was our gorilla trekking - an incredible experience that is hard to put into words. We were in the middle of a gorilla group, directly in front of us a mother with her baby and the silverback. Pure goose bumps.
We were accommodated in different lodges, which were all really beautiful. The staff was always incredibly eager and very accommodating. All in all, we had an unforgettable trip, which was organized absolutely professionally by African Dreamtravel. We can highly recommend African Dreamtravel and say many thanks to the African Dreamtravel team and to our guide Nasser.

In September 2022, I took a 22-day self-drive tour through the western part of South Africa (Western as well as Northern Cape) organized by African DreamTravel. Everything worked out very well. The recommended vehicle was just right to cope with the difficult tracks. The accommodations were all very well chosen. I especially liked the fact that Harald Braun and his team on site in Cape Town dealt intensively with my ideas when putting together the route and brought in their own ideas, so that a perfect route came out. So I could reach my goal to discover as many bird species as possible and came home with a full list. Many thanks for the perfect organization! I will gladly approach African Dreamtravel again when I plan my next self-drive tour to South Africa.

Beautiful trip through Namibia conducted as a self-driver, everything worked very well from pickup at the airport, vehicle delivery and booked lodges / farms. Extensive documentation received before the start of the trip. Wishes were taken into account in the planning, one lodge was too big for us (many tour groups, very noisy in the early morning..).

We planned and carried out a 3-week Namibia rental car round trip with African Dreamtravel. Everything was perfectly planned and organized. The lodges were excellent. We have experienced and seen a lot. For questions was always a contact person: in reachable. Thank you again.

Our fifth time in Africa with African Dreamtravel :-)
This time we went again for three weeks as a self-driver to Namibia. And also this time everything was perfectly organized!
For this a big praise to the team on site in Namibia!
Our questions were always answered quickly and competently and an exciting route and suitable accommodations were arranged exactly according to our wishes. Even our riding wishes could be fulfilled!
Much too fast the time went by, but the next trip with African Dreamtravel is already in planning!
