Some people have the special gift not only of preserving memories, but also of giving them a voice. To me, Ulrike is exactly one of those people.

With a great deal of heart, sensitivity, and genuine appreciation, she supports people as they navigate deeply personal topics. Whether it’s a eulogy or a memoir, she takes her time, listens attentively, and manages to turn stories into something lasting.

I’m particularly impressed by her keen eye for the small details that define a person. She consistently brings creative ideas to the table that make memories even more vivid and meaningful. The result isn’t just texts or books, but true treasures for the whole family.

We were a group of 12 people who booked Ulrike’s Babylon Berlin tour. Ulrike took us on a journey back to the 1920s, walking us through various locations featured in Volker Kutscher’s crime novels and passionately recounting the story behind the story with vivid descriptions. A tour I highly recommend—not just for Babylon Berlin fans!

My editorial team traveled to Berlin from four different cities in Germany, and I wanted to treat them to something special beyond the admittedly exhausting work meetings. And the private tour led by Ulrike Manthei—starting at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, through the Mitte district, past the New Synagogue, and ending at Clärchens Ballhaus—was exciting and impressive because we learned so many interesting things, some of which you simply can’t find in conventional guidebooks, and everything was presented so vividly and engagingly through storytelling that we were all thrilled. The charismatic Ulrike Manthei also knows how to confidently address all questions and adapt to different needs. If someone gets tired, she simply takes a shortcut, or the group stops to sit down and is treated to an extra Berlin story. And even I, who’ve lived in Berlin for 25 years, learned quite a few things about the city that I didn’t know. Simply wonderful—and that’s why I’m giving it every star in the world!

A very lively, informative, and high-quality city tour—entertaining at the same time, with amusing surprises sprinkled throughout! It’s presented in a way that appeals to adults and children alike. Manthei followed in the footsteps of Emil and the Detectives, based on Erich Kästner’s book of the same name, in an exciting and captivating way. Quotes were read aloud right on the spot. This brought an interesting facet of my own city to life in a truly vivid way. Thank you very much!

As a small group of five women, we had such an entertaining morning that none of us even noticed how far we’d actually walked! Ulrike’s stories transported us to another time, and we had so much fun. I don’t know of any other company where the friendly owner tailors her approach to visitor groups as personally as she does at “Erlebe die Stadt.” Whether you’re visiting with a dog, a child… and with such a wide range of themes, I highly recommend it. I was particularly impressed recently when I simply sent a photo of the Babylon Berlin film shoot taken from a backyard, and the team at “Erlebe die Stadt” immediately knew exactly where it was being filmed. Someone here literally knows Berlin like the back of their hand.
City tours in Berlin and Potsdam—I recommend “Erlebe die Stadt.”

The four of us—two couples—went on a romantic tour of Mitte. Erlebe die Stadt treated us to a few wonderful hours with a heartfelt blend of educational insights and emotional experiences. The highlight at the end was the wedding waltz. So if you want to surprise your sweetheart in a truly unique way, this is the perfect opportunity.

We went on a tour with Ulrike Manthei following in the footsteps of Erich Kästner’s *Emil and the Detectives* and were really thrilled. It was interesting to hear the background stories, and the way the tour was conducted was great, too. With little suitcases and flowers in hand, we felt transported back to that era; we’re more than happy to recommend this and other tours. This was our second time on a tour with Ulrike—and certainly not our last.
