After initial reservations on my part as to whether this path was the right one for me, it was already clear to me after the first session that the work with Ms. Seidl-Jester was extremely profitable.
On the one hand, this is due to the fact that I really appreciate her as a person: She is open and honest, but also compassionate and sympathetic. She manages to get to the heart of a matter without a lot of words, and with just a few follow-up questions she can lead to great insights. Therefore, the cooperation with Ms. Seidl-Jester was characterized by great trust and a good atmosphere from the very beginning.
On the other hand, the benefit also lies in her expertise: she is not only able to reflect thoughts and emotions, but also to explain and substantiate them on the basis of models. Thus, at the end of each session, there was always a small homework assignment, which was either related to observations, but also to practical implementations. These were particularly important to Ms. Seidl-Jester: Instead of pursuing any hypotheses, she always directed the focus to the present and the prompt implementation. As a result, successes were already visible after a short time.
I always looked forward to the sessions with her. I could arrange these flexibly with her, i.e. if I felt the need, I could drop in weekly, but if I wanted to try something out over a longer period of time, that was okay too.
I found it particularly impressive that at the beginning of each session she still knew exactly what the goal of the last session was and specifically asked if I had achieved that goal. This made me feel not only taken seriously, but also cared for on a very individual basis.
I can only encourage everyone to get involved with this work: It is worth it!
