We attended the camp with the 10th grade (as a graduation trip) and it was a complete success! We were supervised daily in several activities by two team leaders, who very quickly established a personal and familiar relationship with the students. The two girls were the contact persons for all questions, guided us safely and with commitment through the diverse and varied activities (climbing, survival training, biathlon, cooking on the campfire, educational unit on "No power to drugs", canoeing, GaGa ball and much more) and we teachers had the opportunity to observe our students in peace. This is often not possible in everyday school life and it gave us new perspectives on some of the children. In addition, the process was so well organized and the personal effort for us was so low that the trip was really relaxed for us (I have experienced this quite differently on other trips...). 10th graders are perhaps (almost) a bit too old for this kind of adventure camp, and so they all grumbled at first (also because the parallel class went to Berlin...), but once the activities started everyone was enthusiastic, laughed their heads off, and were just active, fun kids who tackled challenges, exercised in the fresh air, and had fun together as a team. In reflection, the children later said that the class had grown together better and that the actions had strengthened the community.
The camp (we were in the cabins) is rustic, but cool, the food was received differently, but we found it really good (children are just violently spoiled...), for each main course there was a rich fresh salad bar for self-service, always a (good) vegetarian or vegan alternative, the breakfast always contained besides rolls, cheese, cold cuts, Nutella, jams, etc. also cereals, juice, fruit. Fantastic. All day coffee, tea and fresh fruit available to take yourself. The site is in the middle of nowhere, so that students simply stay on site and use the forest, the meadows, playing fields, basketball court, dirt bike tracks, etc. and are hardly tempted to seek diversion in the supermarket or the like. A kleinert kiosk allows "extra wishes", such as candy etc.. The equipment seems partly a bit outdated, but everything is available for all at any time, it will not be boring here in any case. There are fireplaces, a swimming lake, a lake for canoeing, playground equipment, a climbing wall, foosball, billiards, BMX bikes and and and...
We had two interns at the school during that time, they were allowed (which was awesome for them) to ride along for free (!) as chaperones as an exception, so they could gain their first experience "on the other side". Thanks for this opportunity!
Arriving by train was completely unproblematic, as there is a shuttle bus from the train station to the camp.
We will definitely come again in the coming years!
