She did a great job explaining the appearance of the herbs (so that confusion can be ruled out), their scent, their culinary uses, and their medicinal properties. It was very informative and educational, and there are so many things you can put into practice and make happen! The pre-trip support was great, and they accommodated individual needs in a very friendly and helpful way, making it possible even for older participants to enjoy this hike! A group of 10 of us went on an informative and entertaining herb walk in Bottrop’s city forest with Nicole. The tour was engaging and fascinating. She did a great job explaining the herbs and their potential uses—both culinary and medicinal—and answered all our questions.
The communication and coordination leading up to the tour also deserve special mention. They were outstanding and very, very pleasant.
Many thanks to Nicole for a wonderful afternoon—and we’d recommend her 100%.

The fact that I went on the herb walk a second time probably speaks for itself😊
There’s definitely a herb here for everyone, as you can tell from the reactions of the other hikers. This little journey into nature is packed with information, tips, legends, and myths, all shared in a pleasant and humorous way by the lovely Nicole.
This way, in a relaxed atmosphere, you gain knowledge that’s a great foundation to build on and leaves you curious for more. Thumbs up—I’d love to do it again when the opportunity arises.

I went on two trips with her right away—it was absolutely amazing! I took in so many wonderful experiences, and it was definitely worth doing twice, if only to reinforce what I’d learned! We went to Malente, and I’d go again in a heartbeat! As a trained chef, I learned a lot about using herbs—one particularly great result was tasting the horseradish flavor in the seeds when making garlic-smoked fish!

I’ve been on two herb walks with Ms. Heppert. The second one was because the first one was so good that it made me curious to learn more. Ms. Heppert has very valuable specialized knowledge. I’m not a complete novice when it comes to wild plants, but I did discover some new botanical treasures here, along with their various uses. Ms. Heppert adapts well to her clients’ level of knowledge. On the first tour, I learned that the active ingredients in ribwort plantain dissolve well in alcohol but not in honey. So I replaced my cough honey with a tincture I still had on hand, and after a few days, my long-lasting, very persistent cough was gone. Did I benefit from these hikes? 100 percent! I’m looking forward to more informative tours in a pleasant atmosphere with Ms. Heppert. Thank you very much and warm regards, Petra Hübner

I’m sooo glad that you joined us twice, that you enjoyed both tours, and that—even though you weren’t a complete beginner when it comes to wild plants—you were still able to learn a lot of new things and put them to good use 💚 The solubility thing is never quite that simple—it’s a whole philosophy in itself. You really do have to pay close attention to what you’re after, and ribwort plantain is especially tricky in that regard ;-) For example, the mucilage dissolves well in water or honey, but if you’re more interested in the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compound aucubin, you’ll need alcohol instead ;-) I’m so glad that tip helped you 😍 Thank you so much for joining us—I really enjoyed meeting you and hope to see you again soon!

Today we went on an in-depth herb walk (2.5 hours) exploring the little green wonders right along the trail. Thanks to the guide’s expert knowledge and some interesting anecdotes, we learned a lot of fascinating facts. Our group was very curious and engaged. All in all, it was a truly interesting and informative herb walk—led by a very friendly guide, by the way.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute highlight—straight from the forest to the plate!**
We took part in the herb walk followed by a tasting and were completely thrilled. The walk was incredibly educational, and it was fascinating to see the treasures nature has in store right on our doorstep.
The absolute highlight, however, was the cooking and dining together afterward! We whipped up fantastic dishes using the wild herbs we’d collected: a wonderfully creamy herb soup, freshly made herb dumplings on braised tomatoes (topped with Parmesan), and delicious dips that paired perfectly with the fresh baguette. Even the water in the pitcher was lovingly flavored with fresh herbs and flowers.
You can immediately tell how much passion and expertise went into this. The atmosphere in the kitchen and at the table was incredibly warm and convivial. An all-around successful day that we will definitely recommend to others! Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!

The "happy" in the name is spot on—that’s exactly how we felt after our herb walk, and Nicole is incredibly friendly and a wonderful woman.
I gave the herb walk as a gift certificate; from the very first moment, the communication was friendly, and everything was handled smoothly and shipped quickly according to my requests.
The day of the walk was lovely; we had plenty of time and peace to explore and learn about everything. We were a fun group of five people.
It was a wonderful experience that I’d gladly recommend to others!

The “Wild Gifts” workshop exceeded my expectations. We were a group of just three people; everything was perfectly prepared and the schedule was well-planned, so that by the end of the class, all of our “wild gifts” were finished. We had plenty of time to follow all the steps, and our individual questions were answered promptly and in detail.
Everyone was involved in the process, and we had a lot of fun. By the end, we had five very different products: fruit vinegar, pesto, medicinal wine, a sweet treat, and a body butter. To top it all off, we received beautiful, lovingly selected packaging for our gifts.
In between, we were treated to a delicious wild herb quark, which we were able to enjoy together in a relaxed
atmosphere.
I received the handout that very same evening.
Thank you so much for the wonderful afternoon. I’m already looking forward to the next workshop

Nicole Heppert’s workshops are held in small groups. This way, we participants receive very personalized attention and lots of helpful information. Yesterday there were three of us. I really liked the selection of five unique products to give as gifts. We each made all the products and weren’t rushed at all! It’s great that you don’t just make the products, but also get the matching and very attractive jars, bottles, tins, boxes, etc. to go with them!!!
Plus, Nicole Heppert had once again prepared a tasty little snack for us to enjoy, which really added to the friendly atmosphere. Thank you for the wonderful workshop.

A cooking class with pine needles!? We were curious and were rewarded with a cool culinary experience. I was amazed at how versatile, flavorful, and simply delicious cooking with pine needles can be. Yes, every type of noodle has its own distinct flavor! It’s interesting to cook in a furniture showroom. I loved that they accommodated every allergy or food intolerance without making a big deal out of it, and without detracting from the cooking experience. An unusually delicious meal with nice people in a relaxed atmosphere! I highly recommend it.
