I help cool entrepreneurs with really good ideas for products get their customers to choose them over other products so they and their products are and stay in demand.
What I can't stand at all is when you, as an entrepreneur, put a lot of... fucking heart and soul into your project, work through the nights and really put your mind to it - and then get disappointed because only a few people buy it.
While you are reading these lines, once again more than 1 startup fails in Germany alone for only one reason: Lack of demand. Yes, you read correctly. Lack of demand is THE reason why startups usually don't get younger than 24 months. And that's why I help cool entrepreneurs with exactly this lever.
As an economist, the first place I looked for the answer to the question of how people decide in favor of you and your product was among economists - even though I used to think that my business studies were of no use to me. Today I know that's true!
The neuroscientists, who deal with people, are smarter. It also makes sense. 100% of customers are people! By the way: 100% of the users are also people, 100% of the clients are also people and 100% of the employees are also people....
So if you want to answer the question of how people decide to buy your product, all you really need to know is where and how we humans make decisions. And we humans do that - drum roll - in the brain. The no-brainer in chief. The limbic system of the brain is where all decisions are made. You don't have to remember that, just who lives in the limbic village: the inhabitants are called emotions. And these inhabitants actually make all decisions. And by that I really mean ALL. And by ALL I mean unisex. Not only women make all decisions emotionally, we men do too. No kidding!
Rationally we can't decide, we can only weigh, and when we weigh, the neighbors from the prefontal cortex contact us. And these neighbors are called "reason".
That's why the neighbors of reason complain all the time when you throw a party in the limbic village. And reason then tries to persuade the emotions: "Do you actually know that it's after 10 p.m.?" or "Have you ever heard of room volume?" is then shouted over the fence. But it rarely works, because the emotions don't care what reason has to say. They are having fun at the party and are in top form emotionally. Especially at parties when you haven't seen your loved ones for a while. I think you know very well how this can end ;)
There is actually only one exception, in which reason is superior to emotions: When experience knowledge is involved. So if you've already had a party and you know that the reasonable people in the neighborhood will send the cops at 22:01 to break up your party.... Then this could lead to the fact that you relatively fast the Mucke turn down a little. Then, but only then, reason wins for once. Otherwise, the rule is always: emotion beats reason!
So maximize the emotions with your product and people will decide for you. Well, it's not that simple. But together we can do it :)
A wonderfully inspiring talk with a lot of heart and passion. Hendrik manages to reach hearts in a very approachable way. This is where potential meets enthusiasm for one's own topic. Very inspiring and absolutely recommendable! Such lectures are simply fun and the words still resonate with me. Therefore: 💯% recommendation. Thank you for the great impulses!
In 2017, I came across the UXperten for the first time through research and decided to take the Design Thinker certificate course. The content taught was practical and comprehensible in every respect, so that I could immediately implement the acquired knowledge in my professional practice. So I didn't hesitate for long and after passing the exam, I took the User Experience Manger in mid 2018 and the Usability Engineer at the end of 2018, also at UXperten.
A few years later, I can say that I still benefit from the courses and would choose UXperten again at any time. So I can only recommend the courses to everyone!
A very exciting and extensive time with sympathetic, competent and committed trainers. The content is conveyed clearly and well structured.
Very good and flexible support during the course. Many thanks for the valuable suggestions and tips. I have already implemented much of it practically in my company.
300% Different, that probably sums it up!
Not the boring promise of things that can not be kept, but realistic conversations at eye level that ultimately push the success towards maximization.
Thank you very much for great cooperation and here's to more great phone calls!
I particularly liked the way we worked together. It was fun to discover new things, to look at different perspectives and to work in a practical way. I have taken a lot from the seminar. Thank you for the great time and I wish you all the best.
