Dear Team,
Thank you very much for helping me to become a master for protection and security. I would certainly not have been able to do this on my own. That is why I can recommend you to others, taking into account my claim and my situation.
However, I have a few things that I would like to get rid of:
- I think I am a special case and have a high self-discipline. I like to help myself and without this ability, I would not have passed the master. I had to do a lot of research on my own that was neither in the materials nor answered by the instructors. This concerned both content-related things, such as certain topics (for this I ordered the framework plan of the IHK, for example), but also organizational things, such as help in preparing for the various exams. Only for the AEVO did I get a few tips from Ms. Pabst, the rest I had to get from the IHK. Overall, I felt very left alone, but this was perhaps also due to the fact that I never took advantage of the face-to-face seminars due to the distance. Written contact via email with the lecturers was at best sufficient and not helpful.
- the scripts in combination with the learning success checks do not work 100% in my opinion. They only helped me to recall the material, which I did anyway with Anki (learning app) and a flashcard system. The controls were more of a hindrance for me, as I basically just had to memorize the script without being checked to see if I really understood what was in the scripts. In some cases, I even put off the checks because it was pure hard work. In addition, the controlling lecturers were some times very small-minded in their answers. I didn't care about the achieved points anyway, because you could basically copy everything from the script, but the lecturers seemed to take the whole thing very seriously. Instead of explanations for missing points, they referred to the scripts, which meant that in the end you had to check everything yourself and were not really in the exchange. I understand the sense, but the system only seems really conclusive to me if you then discuss the missing knowledge and understanding with the lecturers again, so that you can fill in the gaps.
- I would have liked much more preparation for the exams. Now, unfortunately, I don't know how intensive the classroom sessions are, but only with the help of Mr. Zitzmann's podcast and information from the IHK itself did I get an overview of what matters in the exam. I had to buy questions from past exams myself, these could have been integrated (perhaps modified) into the learning checks, so that you get a permanent preparation for the questions of the real exams. If I had not prepared myself for the exams, I would have failed the written ones in any case. Someone who doesn't notice this on their own will fail the exams without a sound.
Despite all the criticism, the system still worked very well for me and I didn't fail a single exam. The structuring was great, the topics were well delimited and the knowledge from the scripts was also super structured. What was relevant for the exam was written and I was able to continue working as normal alongside the training, in my case continuing my business as normal. The knowledge has also shown fruit in my work and I think all in all the training was successful.
I would like to thank all participants again and wish you a pleasant summer!
Best regards
