Mindfulness is the ability to perceive the present moment without judgment. What is meant by this is a particular form of attention. Jon Kabat-Zinn describes it as follows:
"Mindfulness means being attentive in a certain way: consciously, in the present moment, and without judgment. This kind of attention increases awareness and promotes clarity and the ability to accept the reality of the present moment." (Kabat-Zinn, 1998)
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a stress management program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the late 1970s in the United States.
It is a training program for our mind and includes meditative exercises in rest and movement. Through regular training, increasing mindfulness and greater inner peace are achieved. At the same time, the perception of thoughts, feelings and body sensations deepens.
For private individuals I offer 8-week MBSR courses as well as individual one-to-one trainings.
For companies, I offer courses that are suitable in terms of content, time and need. These include e.g.
- Stress management workshop,
- Mindfulness trainings,
- Impulse presentations or taster workshops, e.g. as part of a company health day,
- executive/team event,
- Half-day or day seminars up to courses lasting several weeks.
For schools I offer consulting on the introduction and implementation of mindfulness in schools for teachers and students.
Thorsten Friese is an absolutely super MBSR coach who can convey the attitude towards life of mindfulness very well. With a lot of patience, understanding and empathy, he helps everyone to find their own way there. His advice has helped me a lot! The atmosphere in the course has always been very familiar, open, honest and warm. Thank you for these 8 weeks that have gone by way too fast!!!
Thorsten imparts his knowledge of mindfulness unobtrusively and individually. He responds very well to the participants and accepts their individuality and facets. The atmosphere is appreciative and pleasant. I can give a 100% recommendation.
The course has given me very important and useful impulses. Thorsten has ensured the success with a very approachable manner and pleasant atmosphere and motivated me to anchor this in everyday life and to attend further meetings on the subject of MBSR.
I participated in the Day of Mindfulness two days ago and already drew a positive conclusion for myself at the end of the event on this day. It was worthwhile to be reminded again of the small important things in life.
Through this day there will certainly be some small changes in my life again.
That I have rated everything with Very Good may sound exaggerated, but that's how I feel.
Thorsten leads confidently through the course, is humanly pleasant and has, also important, a pleasant voice that guides you through the meditations. He was a participant in the ReSource project (you can google it), which makes him additionally competent. I have stuck with him ever since and meditate daily. You can book him without worries, you will not regret it. I wish you positive effects, they will come, which, is a surprise for each participant.
I gladly give 5/5 stars in all categories. Thorsten has led a great course. The organization and support was always first class! In addition to all the necessary expertise, Thorsten also always addressed individual issues in a friendly, competent and empathetic manner. I am happy to recommend Thorsten as an MBSR trainer.
Mindfulness exercises are a way to do something for yourself sustainably with little effort. Thorsten Friese guides the exercises very well and is competently available for questions and in case of difficulties. He has a calm and friendly manner and also knows how to take things with humor. Mindfulness exercises help to cope better with the challenges of life. Better here means easier. I am no longer so quickly overwhelmed by my emotions e.g. impatience when "waiting in line". I have learned that a deep and conscious breath helps me not to be overwhelmed by my emotions like a robot and maybe do something rash. The course is, of course, just a beginning introduction to the exercises. The daily exercises must of course be incorporated into each person's own life. I have made the decision to continue practicing the exercises beyond the course. They should be a permanent part of my life. It is worth it! I can highly recommend the course with Thorsten Friese.
