https://www.angelcamps-direkt.de is our comparison and information portal for around 3 million German anglers who travel to the Arctic Circle for deep-sea fishing. Information is available about more than 1,500 Norwegian fishing camps/fishing... lodges, which always include a fishing boat, and about 50 fishing trip operators.
We help the deep sea anglers and the sea anglers with the boat to find their target fish and to prepare their fishing trips and fishing places already from home with the exploration of sea maps.
You travel to Norway either by plane, ferry or car. From Germany's large islands and ports such as Kiel, Travemünde Fehmarn and Rügen you travel comfortably to Norway or Sweden. From Hamburg it is about 2.700km to the second largest Norwegian island Senja. We are now at the level of Alaska, in northern Norway.
A little further south in central Norway, e.g. at the level of Trondheim or western Norway in the direction of Bergen or Bömlo, fjord fishing predominates, where the boats do not have to be as rough-water resistant as in the open North Atlantic. The boats are mostly made of plastic and have diesel engines up to 20 hp, the higher you travel in the north the more stable the boats, mostly aluminum boats with 70-100 hp engines, here we fish in the North Atlantic and the Barents Sea.
Once at the fishing camp, the pilks, deep sea fishing rods, leaders, hooks, fishing suits or floaters and life jackets are prepared to take the boat to the underwater reefs and fish for your target fish like cod, coalfish or halibut.
We are fishing for saltwater fish here, so you need a different fishing equipment than on the German river.
Helpful for the boat trips are chart plotter, GPS and echo sounder to find the fish, and to catch these devices are usually already installed in the boat.
You don't need a boat license, if you were born before 1980 you can be the skipper yourself, most of the time you are allowed to drive boats up to 20 HP.
The schooling fish like pollack, coalfish and mackerel are interesting, because the behavior of the huge schools of fish is different from that of the solitary fish or the ling, tusk, cod, redfish, pollack or rockfish standing in small groups.
The best time to travel is summer. During the midnight sun from about April to September it is light around the clock and fishing is possible 24 hours a day.
In winter, when e.g. in January the Skrei World Championship takes place on the Lofoten Islands, it is on the other hand cold and only on a few hours dawn, but the fishing passion is huge even at times of Aurea Borealis and the northern lights are breathtaking.
Fishing in the Arctic Ocean or the Barents Sea, i.e. in Northern Norway, is challenging but also wonderful, the air is crystal clear, the nature untouched and you will see sea eagles, porpoises, dolphins, with a bit of luck also basking sharks, seals and puffins.
A fishing license is not necessary for the Norwegian coasts.
If you have never been to Norway for fishing on the North Atlantic, we recommend a fishing guide for at least 1 day. He will show you which deep sea fishing rod is suitable. The choice of reel is also very important and the guide will show you whether it should be a multi reel, a stationary reel or a baitcast, or he will offer you the use of an electric reel for deep fishing for ling or redfish.
The fishing line is crucial. We ourselves use a fishing leader made of 0.8 mm monofilament line, then 300-500m of eight-plait 28-gauge fishing line, which has a color change every 10 or 20 meters. This will make it easier for you to estimate the depth at which your pilker will hang.
The lures should not be too light because of the strong current in the Atlantic, because often the buoyancy from the boat drifting in the current is too great and your pilker will not reach the bottom.
There are many varieties of hooks and we use both circlehooks, treble hooks, simple hooks or bycatchers.
During your trips you should also always have some rubber fish with you, some sea fish or fish species "like" them.
To land the fish you need a gaff or a blade, or you lift the fish into the boat without any tools. A landing net is usually unsuitable, as the treble hooks often get caught in the net and the landing nets are too small for the often 1 meter large fish.
After returning to the fishing camp, the first thing to do is to take pictures before filleting.
I myself won the Angelmasters Eisele Sea Cup in 2014. In it you have to fish the 10 sea fishes butt/ plaice, ling, tusk, mackerel, herring, garfish, polack, saithe, cod and sea trout.
You have 1 year time from 01.01.-31.12.xx. After the catch you take a photo of the fish, with a tape measure and the current Angelmasters logo as a proof photo. You send this to the 7-member jury. If they approve your catch, the fish counts towards your score.
In 2014 I was the 1st and so far only woman to win this biggest European fishing competition with a length of 7.92 m over the 10 scoring fish!!!!
At the latest now it's the turn of the fish filleting. For this you need good filleting knives, and we recommend a vacuum sealer to take care of the fish.
When the fish is ready portioned, we wash it in saltwater,- it is a saltwater fish after all, drain it and then vacuum seal the fish to fit the portion.
To transport the fish, we built a fish box that encloses our freezer drawers and keeps the fish frozen for 4 days. You can find the instructions on our homepage under boat fishing.
In Norway, the Norwegian Fiskeriedirektoratet allows you to take 18 kg of fish per person if you have booked your fishing trip in a listed fishing camp, fishing house or apartment. Otherwise you are allowed to take 10 kg of fish.
A good preparation is important to make your dream come true to catch a one meter fish. On our site angelcamps-direkt.de you will find all the necessary information to prepare your trip, packing lists, weather apps, travel information, contact to fishing forums and Facebook fishing groups.
We also show you how to create sea maps and get to know your reefs, underwater trenches or the Norwegian islands in your fishing area from the comfort of your sofa.
We invite you therefore cordially to look in with us and also gladly on a contact or evaluation of our homepage.
Petri Heil and see you soon in Norway
We learned a lot from Sabine and Hans about what is important in sea fishing. Drift, hotspots, filiting, weather, pilks, natural bait and much more. It has brought us a lot and was also fun. Especially the advice on what to have on board was very helpful. You never stop learning.
Boats are top with Carmin echo sounder in very good condition. Now in early September you should plan more days, because you can not go out daily depending on the weather. The environment is great, also the probability to see auroras is very high. To refuel 10min and shopping about 15min.
From Rainer and Heike from the Spreewald
Many of the individual possibilities concerning accommodation, boats including equipment, fishing possibilities of the different fish species along the approximately 26,000 km long coast of Norway, in the 4 area regions from south to north, are explained in an informative way.
I was already several times in Norway on the road and have laboriously gathered all the information for my travel planning on the Internet, it was not always successful and has taken a lot of time . During my research I accidentally came across the site " angelcamps - direkt " .
I called there and got a callback from Sabine the same day. All my questions were clarified and my idea for the next Norwegian trip discussed. She gave me appropriate recommendations and tips, contacted a fishing camp appropriate for me and I immediately received a reply from the camp. I am just thrilled and grateful for Sabine's help.
In short , if you need help , at angelcamp-direkt : , , there you will be helped " ,
Hello Sabine and Hans, this year Corona prevented my trip to Norway. So I had a lot of time for virtual travel. I have with the help of angelcapms-direkt many areas of Norway new or rediscovered after years of my own experience.
You are so good...., one finds all information at a glance...., one can, would like to, absolutely must go immediately.
The special highlight this year was of course your life report from Medby, you describe so authentically, one feels the wind and the rain, sees the colors of sky and sea, remembers own experiences, would like to put the best of the fish itself into the pan, one tastes the fish, so fresh as nowhere else.
And I don't want to forget to congratulate you, dear Sabine, on your super catch this year. The best from the North Sea on your fishing rod !!!!
Sabine Amarell is a very big fish or better a very big fish in her field. Funny, experienced and very impressive what she does... and also on stage Sabine Amarell is an experience. If you are in the mood for a special fishing experience, you are in the right place. And who has desire on a great lecture to capital catches, large fish and other success secrets, also. Sabine Amarell is my absolute TOP recommendation.
I had never been able to do anything with fishing. Until Sabine Amarell spoke with the greatest passion about deep-sea fishing. She showed a lot of enthusiasm on stage and was able to inspire some new fans for fishing. Exciting.
Sabine knows where to find the really big fish. No, all joking aside. If you want to experience something out of the ordinary and want to put yourself in professional hands for the planning, execution and accompaniment of your fishing trip, Sabine is the right person for you. Comprehensive knowledge, paired with many years of expertise and hands-on mentality find a unity in Sabine. Thank you for your valuable tips!
Sabine Amarell amazes everyone in her lecture. It is incredibly enriching to think about the comparisons between business and deep-sea fishingb. Sabine Amarell brings exciting stories, new insights and profound analogies to the point and thus offers a pleasantly new view on familiar topics, which can be processed extremely well with it. A truly impressive lecture!
