camps for friends

Our daughter really enjoyed Easter 2024 at Camps for friends, Haltern am See. She was able to improve her English by speaking every day. There were lots of great things to do, such as a trip to the indoor swimming pool or the climbing forest. She would like to go to the camp again for a week during the summer vacation.

My son Xavier has been going to your Camps for Friends for years and is always very satisfied and so am I!!!!

We would recommend Camps for Friends at any time. Above all, it is a great help for using the foreign language. It overcomes the fear of speaking. This year, our daughter will be using the camp in England as preparation for the Realabschlussprüfung (oral English exam).

My daughter (11 years old) has now been to an English camp run by this provider for the second time. The first time was right after she moved to grammar school. She didn't really have much contact with it at elementary school, so it was difficult for her to memorize the vocabulary and pronounce it correctly. In just one week of camp, she quickly found out how the pronunciation should actually be and learned an incredible amount of vocabulary for everyday use. After the camp, learning vocabulary for school was much easier for her.

Irrespective of this, I received a beaming, totally happy girl back after 1 week. She had contact with people her own age with whom she could start and end the day together. They went hiking, swimming and played basketball together. At the fall camp, they even hollowed out pumpkins in keeping with the season, just in time for Halloween. For Halloween, there was a party with costumes... and much more that I can't remember right now.

And for all these activities, the supervisors spoke in English. In addition to the candy package for the midnight party, there was of course full board. The rooms were well maintained.

All in all, I have to say a big thank you to the organizers and the supervisors! My daughter will never forget this time in her life and it will help her a lot at school! We will definitely attend a camp with you again!

Benefits for the school: still unclear

My son was at the language camp over Easter and he really enjoyed it. He feels that he has become more confident in understanding the language. He made lots of nice contacts, his independence was improved, he liked the food and the activities and he would very much like to take part again.

Our son had a great time at the camp on Lake Chiemsee and would love to repeat the experience.
We are happy to recommend the program to others.

My daughter was very satisfied.

Our children were by far the youngest. Although Camps for Friends advertises that language beginners can also participate in the camp, our youngest (5th grade) was not really taken along. She understood almost nothing in class and therefore could hardly benefit. Nevertheless, the children had a great experience. However, I would advise parents with language beginners against the camp, since costs and benefits are then not proportionate.

The counselors were super sweet, according to my child.
That is the most important thing in my opinion.
They had a great range of leisure activities and my daughter misses the camp, so everything was done right. Whether her English is now better than before, or that she has learned something, I can not sign so now. But the most important thing was the fun.

The teamer were all nice and friendly, what my children report. The food, very important for the younger one, was mostly (80%) very tasty.

The excursions adapted to the weather and as promised.

A 1 1/2 h bike tour to Lake Chiemsee would have been too strenuous for my children at over 30 degrees, so the substitute swimming tour was suitable.

Children already wanted to book again for next year when we picked them up, in this respect there is nothing more to add........

My son 14J was with his cousin 12 J in the Whitsun vacations at Chiemsee. Both were totally thrilled and are already looking forward to the next vacation camp!

My daughter 13 years was super enthusiastic about the team of the location in Stein am Chiemsee

The program is very well designed. It would be great if there were also individual support in between (a supervisor grabs a child while he or she is eating and talks to him or her). Especially for children who otherwise say little, perhaps quite good. Otherwise, keep it up!

My child was very satisfied. However, the rooms and the sanitary facilities were already very old and not satisfactory.

Our kids were absolutely satisfied and we felt that everything was well organized and executed.
