Having already been to Freeport in the spring to take a look at the local conditions, I wanted to find out more this time.
So I asked Christoph if he would have time to advise me at short notice and introduce me to possible projects.
We made an appointment in 3 days, as the ferry from Fort Laderdale to Freeport leaves on that day.
This time my partner also came along to get an idea.
Christoph picked us up directly at the harbor and showed us part of the city.
We had lots of questions on the way, which he answered patiently.
After the city, he showed us the 3 districts with sea access where he builds houses.
It was very interesting to see the differences between the 3 neighborhoods up close.
We also took the opportunity to visit a building site.
The building style with concrete reminded me a lot of the construction methods in Switzerland and should probably be able to withstand a level 4 hurricane.
After the tour by car, we had the pleasure of inspecting the same properties with Christoph's boat.
This is always very important with properties on the water, as most of the houses face the water, which is where the real life takes place and cannot be seen from the road.
And it was already getting dark, so we headed back to the harbor.
Christoph drove us back to the hotel and recommended a car rental company for the next day.
The next morning, the two of us went on a voyage of discovery to get detailed information. We intend to spend most of the year in the Bahamas and not just be there as investors.
In the evening, we had a dinner date with Christoph and his wife and enjoyed the local restaurant on the beach and the great atmosphere.
Today we wanted to drive around the whole island to see if there was anything else apart from Freeport. But it's like the other Bahamas islands, practically everyone lives in the town and the rest of the island is quite uninhabited.

The next morning, we arranged to meet Christoph for a site assessment to discuss further options and steps.
Since my partner and I had decided on an area, the next step was to find a suitable plot of land.
Of course, we also discussed the procedures for buying a plot and building a house.
To summarize the 3-hour meeting in words would go beyond the scope of this review.
After the meeting, we went to look at the plots again together.
The next morning, Christoph picked us up from the rental car company and we took his boat out for a swim.
Before we drove back to the harbor, we looked at our dream property from the water.
On the way to the ferry, we gave Christoph the task of taking care of the purchase of this property.
I love making decisions and then moving forward quickly.
