Retreats #5 is a living example of continuous, conceptual development, based on the motivating symbiosis of superficially simple continuity of previous retreat practice and the integration of new challenges with new pieces and new teaching content. The retreat took place in a very pleasant atmosphere. The facilities for training, accommodation and catering are ideal and both instructors gave us an instructive time with sensitivity and in-depth knowledge. I learned a lot.
I will be very happy to take part in the next planned Retrats.

Particularly satisfied: the two very professional lecturers. The personal, informal relationship there. The togetherness. The level, the standards. The whole atmosphere there, from the location, the location, the catering and accommodation, and also the overall impression was great. I don't know of anything comparable, also in terms of the organization and the selection of pieces. I would recommend David and the retreat at any time. I have absolutely nothing to complain about.

I particularly recommend the retreats, 80% of which are certainly due to David's organization and approach. The "rest" is down to the place and the people who come together there. And the second thing I would like to emphasize is David's teaching. Both online and in person. I always leave motivated, with the feeling that I can do a lot of things well and that the challenges are achievable. I've never experienced this anywhere else.

David Brand, a world-class saxophonist, is more than just a teacher for his students, he is a coach. He knows how to competently accompany the individual learning process of his students from start to finish and motivates them to go the extra mile together with the participants of his academy. The use of modern, digital possibilities, in addition to the classic face-to-face lessons, creates a learning environment that is second to none. For me, the Saxophone Academy is the ideal complement to my lessons at the local music school.

Challenge very good. Feedback from David on the topics very good. Videos in the classroom very good. Fun in a manageable group.
A little more focus on classical music would be great. In addition, I'm always afraid in groups like this that the "not so experienced" ones won't dare to take part at some point. (But to be honest, this hasn't been the case in the group so far)

I particularly like the open way of dealing with the participants. I've been watching the YouTube videos for a while now and a lot of them are helpful for me. At the retreat in Seifhennersdorf, most of the participants were much further along than I was, and playing together in an ensemble with only saxophones was foreign to me. But I think that this is a gain for me.

I know David from his numerous teaching videos and a saxophone weekend and I was and am thrilled. That's exactly what I want in a saxophone teacher, competent in both styles (jazz and classical), a whirlwind on the saxophone, full of ideas, friendly, challenging and always very appreciative. The format in which we are now operating is rather new to me. The dynamic and friendly approach creates a positive and friendly atmosphere. I really like the content. I am looking for like-minded people with whom it is possible to exchange ideas on a platform like this. David provides me with the necessary input here. It's more about classical music here. Nevertheless, there are enough jazzy pieces. After two years, I still haven't found the form and music I want to play in the long term, or rather the approach to classical music.
