DEMV is a purchasing pool for finance and insurance brokers based in Hamburg. Unlike a pool, you receive direct agreements with the insurance companies and thus retain all rights to your customer base.
I use the free version of Professional Works and have all my direct connections running through it. Never had such a data quality and at the same time the security of the own inventory! Some pools may shine with the same data quality etc., but here the rights of the contracts lie first with the pool and not with me. At that time I was immediately convinced by the idea of DEMV. New brokerage commitments are easy to initiate and your own portfolio is really easy to manage with just a few clicks. It is also nice to see that DEMV always has an open ear and tries to constantly improve and incorporate wishes/opinions.
We have been using DEMV for a while now and are very satisfied overall. The team around Karsten Allesch is highly motivated and works every day to program the best MVP. Professional Works is a very modern system. One must not forget that it is still in its infancy and is currently still under development, so that one or two things do not yet run completely smoothly. However, the releases are gradually solving existing problems, so PW is really providing us with added value in our day-to-day work. In addition, the product management offers us great added value with our own coverage extensions and saves us a lot of time in negotiations with product partners.
Very solid and well structured offering. Especially good functionalities regarding the integration of sub-brokers/employees/tipsters.
Many good marketing features embedded. Explainer videos on different user, and insurance topics very useful.
I came from the field of multiple agents and later as a broker 84HGB and then switched to DEMV and it was the best professional decision I have made in the last 5 years.
It's all very modern and at DEMV you get personal attention and also get trained in the systems. The employees all make a motivated impression and support you where you need it.
A CRM that is second to none. The administration of my clients and their contracts is simple, fast and clear. In addition, significantly more performance than any other pool/association, but all contracts belong to me through the individual connections. It doesn't get any better than that.
For me, the best compromise on the market in terms of technology and service. Definitely also the best broker advisors. Unfortunately, I have experienced this differently with other service providers. By the way, I have a paid membership. With another service provider (technical pioneer), I paid a lot more money and sometimes received no response (not only me) to inquiries for weeks. Here it is fortunately different. Thanks for that, even if of course not everything runs perfectly here.
For brokers looking for a digital solution with little effort, DEMV is a good solution. However, the pricing model is anything but balanced according to the motto: "Hop or Top". For relatively little additional effort in terms of "third-party companies", too high a monthly fee is demanded here. A healthy middle ground is missing here.
The MVP is nicely presented and understandable; unfortunately, there is still some catching up to do (e.g., in the entry of information about car business [many entries are duplicated or missing completely, the order is anything but coherent and is lined up like wallpaper]. When I asked why I can't enter all the necessary information for my third-party contracts, the answer was: The contract is covered anyway, then all data are in the system...". But as a broker who is supposed to cover these portfolios at some point in the future, I have to be able to retrieve and process the data. If they can't be entered, where do I get that info as a broker in the future? I have to store it somewhere outside the MVP! This is where digitization bites its own tail and is not mature. If I have framework contracts with companies, they cannot be taken to DEMV, otherwise they become invalid and I have to use the worse conditions of DEMV. This is probably only possible with a high-priced monthly version. This is nonsense.
The premium comparison calculators deviate quite often from other comparison calculators (are always a tad more expensive). I assume that there is an additional overhead here; as well as in the normal brokerage fees, which are on average always somewhat smaller than with the direct connection (my experience).
Conclusion: For (smaller) private brokers who want to avoid the costs of their own MVP's and want to carry everything to one platform, the DEMV is a good solution, as soon as it becomes more individual, you can't avoid direct connections and a separate (good) MVP.
