the digitization of my slides was made very easy for me. Without stress and great effort for me, the return shipment took place. Everything worked perfectly, even faster than expected and at a very good price.
I have given a neutral rating to the advice section, since I did not have to make use of advice and cannot judge that. However, I assume that this will also be fulfilled in the best possible way if necessary.
I would definitely recommend Filmretter to others.

Positive: Price & quality

In contrast to other providers, there are fixed prices here. The price list is very clearly arranged. You can see directly what you need or want and can choose the right package.
The quality of my 5 VHS cassettes and the film reel that I sent in for testing is super. I had not expected so. Especially not because of the low price.

Negative: somewhat long delivery times. Unfortunately, you only find out in the email when the films arrive at the film rescuers.

We are completely satisfied with the digitization of our film treasures. We commissioned the film rescuers without
We didn't have any great expectations, as the V8 films had not been stored properly. The result is really impressive, despite some flaws that are certainly not attributable to the film rescuers.
We enjoy the old recordings from childhood days and will now watch them more often without a huge effort with projector and screen. Many thanks for the great work.

In February 2023, I sent large-format negatives to the so-called film rescuer, having previously been asked about the format of the negatives and having communicated it. A request for the processing status remained without response. In May, I had to transfer 8.90 euros for the return shipment of the negatives. However, the digital copies did not arrive. When I asked about this, I received the answer that the company could not process such large negatives. Knowing the size of the negatives, why did they accept the order in the first place and cause me expenses and trouble? I consider this to be absolutely unserious and unprofessional. I can only advise against this company.
Upon my protest, the company now offers to refund my costs. After all the trouble at least something positive.

We are very happy with the quality of the service. My mom has an archive of old photos, dias, Super8s, and other media, all of which contain treasured memories. The conversion to digital files was superb. Film-Retter is a family business - turn-around may take a while, but they take pride in their craft. Highly recommended.

Two of my now 33-year-old analog video 8 recordings were digitized (professional digitization, AVI format). The result surprised me positively; I had not expected such a quality after this long storage time. All the greater was the joy when watching the recordings. I will confidently send you my remaining video tapes soon.

Would advise against MiniDV digitization, the quality is mediocre and HDV material is simply not digitized at all but claims the tape would be empty, probably because appropriate hardware is missing at the company.
In addition, several minutes were missing from another tape...

The customer service was fast and friendly, downloading the files uncomplicated.

Thank you very much for copying my tape 8 mm on CD and on USB stick!!! 29 years the tape was old. Did not even know exactly what was filmed there. My children to see as toddlers then Christmas 29 years ago and the most beautiful the 6 te birthday of my daughter, my mom was also on it, had to cry so, because 5 weeks later my mom died. At that time there was no cell phone and when I saw my mom, that was incredibly beautiful!!!
Thank you so much to the movie rescuers, they don't even know what a joy they made me!!!!

The first time was a trial with one cassette. If it is good, more should follow. However, that was nothing.
I was informed that the videotape was blocked and the cassette had to be repaired. I agreed, but was surprised because I had last digitized the film myself (Hauppage WinTV + Magix).

Unfortunately, the digitized film was unusable because now black bars run through the picture in every scene. About the same as the first VHS tapes in the Schnellauf uassahen. Of course, I immediately inserted the original tape into the recorder and the same effect occurred.
Now the original tape and the digital copy are unusable. The only thing I have left is the copy I made earlier this year. Much better than the result of the film savers.
I give one star for the process and delivery.
It is not worth it to have VHS tapes digitized here.
