In summary:
The seller often forgot to provide important information during the purchase process. For example, the price of the car is 8,990 €, but I can only get it 100 € more expensive because there are mandatory costs. He also forgot that I can pick up the car in Teutschenthal, not in Halle.
As a foreigner with no local knowledge, this seemingly minor oversight required a three-hour walk.
I wanted to pay for the car with a bank card, which I was unable to do, as this is not possible at this Toyota dealership. I asked them to help me pay at the HypoBank in Halle, because then the money goes immediately to their account and I can go home. This solution was rejected because they are only willing to accept the transfer. Of course, the transfer from a foreign account does not take minutes, but two days! This also meant 2 nights for me as an extra cost, which was 200 €.
When the seller realized that the money transferred at 2pm would not arrive that day, he offered to take me to the accommodation. It worked out great, because when I arrived in Halle, I saw the traffic jam and then said at the first traffic light, I just have to go to the other side, there is a streetcar that takes me directly to the accommodation . In other words, it did not take me to the accommodation and without local knowledge it was another 2 hours walk to reach the accommodation.
After that, of course, the car was not prepared for the handover. It was not cleaned, fuel tank was empty, oil change, filter change, new carpet was not put in the car. So they didn't do anything for the €100 charged, which is explained with the reason: "We need 2 weeks to prepare the car for delivery."
I would like to add to the above that the many walks have directly benefited me due to my physical disability. Ironic!
There is no way I would recommend it to anyone, not even my enemies!
