Thanks to Melina. She played a big part in ensuring that we reached our destination - Merano - and that we felt we were in good hands in the group despite the great challenge for us. We would also think it would be great to apply the over 50s concept to other hikes.

I took part in the E 5 Alpine Crossing Comfort Oberstdorf - Merano organized by the Oberallgäu Mountain School and what can I say?
Thanks to our very competent and emphatic mountain guide Tobias (Tobi) Anton and a mega-cool group, we all arrived safe and sound in Merano.
The organization of the tour was perfect in all respects, we never had to wait long for the transfers and the food and accommodation were always good to very good (the only exception was the thermal breakfast in Vent). There is still room for improvement. )
Many thanks again to Tobi and our entire group for the unforgettable days.

Alpine crossing E5 (Oberstdorf- Meran) in August 24. Great experience in a very nice group with the mountain guide Christian.

The tour from Oberstdorf to Merano was superbly organized. Our mountain guide Thomas took our group across the Alps safely, at a good pace and with a great sense of humor. With his broad knowledge of mountains and nature and his sense of community, he made the tour an unforgettable experience.

I've been out with the mountain school several times now and it's always been a great experience. This time we had Ernst as our guide, who always took us over the mountains in a friendly and careful manner. I can only recommend the mountain school! Silvia Gernet

We did the Alpentraversale with the Alpine School last week. Everything was just right, the tour was well chosen, advance information (packing list etc.) was helpful and the weather also played along. Above all, our thanks go to our outstanding mountain guide Ernst. We were able to benefit from his many years of experience and had a lot of fun at the same time. We took part in the comfort version of the crossing of the Alps via the E5 from Oberstdorf to Merano - an all-round successful week, not least thanks to our mountain guide Tobi Anton: perfect preparation, good time management, flexible tour planning (additional detours if possible and sensible, shortcuts if necessary), empathetic attitude, honest assessments of the tours and participants, humor could be improved. 😉The accommodation was consistently okay, dinner and breakfast mostly good to very good. A unique opportunity to get to know the Alps in various beautiful facets!

What can we say? On our Alpine crossing comfort with the Oberallgäu Mountain School, everything was just right.
1. the weather...even if nobody has any influence on it, of course. After half a day of rain at the start (so we didn't have the rain protection with us for nothing), we were blessed with mostly bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures for the rest of the tour. So hiking was really fun ;-)

2. the tour itself. Simply amazing. Incredibly varied in terms of terrain and surfaces. Often a bit adventurous, but even more beautiful as a result. Thanks to the good weather, we were able to spontaneously take on 2 more peaks during the tour and were rewarded with spectacular views. The thought of how worthwhile it all was came up very often during the tour. Of course, we shouldn't hide the fact that it is very strenuous and you will definitely reach your limits, but it was absolutely worth it.

3. the organization and the accommodation
Smooth, perfect organization when it came to shuttles and hotels. Nothing was left to chance here.
The rooms were often a little dated, but compared to the mountain huts, they did absolute justice to the "comfort". We were always surprised by the richness of the meals, there was no dinner with less than 3 courses. The highlight was certainly the dinner at the Hotel Mittagskogel. The wellness area there is also highly recommended. After 3 days of hiking, the use of the pool, sauna and relaxation room was just what we needed.
The breakfast buffet (apart from a small exception at the hotel in Vent ("thermal breakfast")) also always contained everything your heart desired.

4. our group, which was always there for each other, laughed a lot, helped each other and finally arrived together at the reservoir in Vernagt, which was a wonderful experience.

5. and last but not least, our mountain guide Tobi, who led us safely across the Alps and was the heart of the group. He was a top professional, gave us various tips on running economy etc. and also provided us with background knowledge about the geography, country and people. He always kept an eye on the group, was able to assess our strengths and weaknesses and made sure that everyone arrived safely.
He was also great as a person, motivating us non-stop, keeping us entertained with his flat jokes and making hiking fun.

All in all, it was a perfect tour that we would definitely recommend.

Concerning E5 tour (Oberstdorf-Meran); August/September 2024:
Our mountain guide Christian W. did a first-class job. He looked after me ("alpine novice") perfectly and imparted valuable, technical hiking knowledge.

The organization was perfect, the mountain guide very experienced, helpful and communicative.

We completed the comfort version of the crossing of the Alps via the E5 from Oberstdorf to Merano. Our mountain guide, Tobias Anton, led our motley group of hikers safely across the Alps with expertise, humor and dedication. He always had an open ear for questions and shared his knowledge of the surroundings and the economy of movement when hiking with us. It was an all-round great experience and I will certainly be reminiscing about this time for many years to come. Best regards, Johannes

Our mountain guide Anuschka always explained everything well and took good care of us. She also motivated us when we thought it was very strenuous. The crossing of the Alps was an unforgettable experience.

We hiked the Alpine crossing in comfort with Tobias "Tobi" Anton. From the very first moment we felt safe and very well guided. His route description was always very precise, so that we were able to develop a good feeling for the next stage the evening before. Tobi responded to each individual in the group, was able to assess us well and turned us into a fantastic team. He always kept an eye on the planning so that we never had to wait long for a transfer bus. All in all, it was a fantastic tour with lots of wonderful impressions and lots of fun. If we hike this tour or stage 2 or 3 again, we would love to do it with Tobi!

Our mountain guides Michael and Claudia took us through the wonderful Dolomites. The impressive mountain scenery will stay in our minds forever. Thank you also for the nice conversations and information on the side.

The Comfort Alpine Crossing was a very special, enriching experience! The atmosphere in our hiking group was great and our mountain guide Tobi's confident, empathetic and humorous manner ensured that we felt safe and in good hands at all times. He kept an eye on everything and organized the entire process perfectly, including spontaneous adjustments. The tours were varied and challenging, and we were rewarded with lots of great views and plenty of breaks along the way. We will keep these days in very good memory, thanks to our group and to Tobi for the great time!
