Due to a negative emotional situation, my horse no longer went on the hanger and became anxious when she saw an open hanger from a distance. A kind of hanger trauma.
After Christine had her by the hand, she stood with her front legs on the ramp for a long time after just a few minutes. It was almost unthinkable until today. After just another 15 minutes, my mare was standing completely on the trailer.
And all without any force, pressure or stress (neither for my mare nor for me), but "only" through Christine's very empathetic but determined behavior and "reading" the horse. During the whole time, Christine always calmly explained to me why she was doing what, why and when the horse was behaving how.
Then it was my turn. So that my mare and I would get there together and she would go back on the hanger. She kept correcting me when I needed it and did it all so calmly and with clear explanations that I ended up putting my horse back on the trailer.
The fear of the trailer more or less disappeared after a short time and in the end there was no sign of it at all.
I learned so much today about my horse's behavior and also about my own behavior.
Christine is so calm and loving, with both horse and human, and gives great and valuable tips and advice, which it is now up to me to put into practice. I could see from my mare's face that she always calmed down in this very stressful situation and still felt at ease. And me too! I really hope that we can now make progress on our own and that we can put the advice and exercises into practice. However, if we need any further support, I will contact Christine again at any time!
