Hello Andi,
I have now completed all the lessons. I'm still finding some of the exercises difficult, of course, but I'll get there. Only now do I really understand the advantage of my "online course" compared to lessons at a music school.
In my case, it was only after I had done all the lessons that I realized that I hadn't really internalized some of the exercises. What can you expect after 3 weeks.
With the online course, I can go back to what I've learned or (already) forgotten at any time and repeat what I haven't yet internalized. And the great thing is that the teacher doesn't grumble when I repeat a certain part for the thirty-eighth time.
The weak point during the course was my impatience and curiosity: What's next? What will happen next? When will I be finished? Curiosity overcame "reason and Andi". He said during a lesson: "Take it slow ... internalize it first ...
You don't have to defeat anyone other than your own impatience and your inner bastard: you just have to practise, practise, practise ... and do it slowly.
I noticed something else that I think is worth mentioning: The key to success is the body, you can only play well what you feel (for me the AHA experience: Hit the Groove - Groove 6). Andi, you are a good example of body awareness. Tip to everyone: get out of your shell, leave the reserved person behind and get "the feeling" (the groove).
We make music and don't just play notes.
And we get better at it every time we practise!
All in all, a course that is worthwhile, even for people like me who didn't want to have anything to do with notes and beats (and everyone can probably count to four). But that's the foundation - and once you've got that down, the "groove" comes all by itself.
Jürgen
