I myself have suffered from misophonia (eating noises, whistling, finger tapping, etc.) for a good 30 years. Terrible.
I only started working on it 2 years ago. At that time I was with another hypnotherapist who didn't achieve success with me with his rather aggressive method, but who triggered/opened a lot of things in me, so that I had to continue working on myself first, because I felt so bad afterwards. I fell into depression. In my helplessness I came across Michael Sommerfeld via this video. I myself come from Austria and it was a long way up to him. Nevertheless, I have already been to him three times for two days each time. I can only say that this has really helped me. Tackling misophonia is a process. You don't have to count on one appointment and hoping that it will go away. But Michael is a blessing and a great companion on the road to recovery.
In addition to the appointments with Michael, I do regular family constellations and continue to be in treatment with a hypnotherapist in my hometown.
I have had a great relationship for over a year now and for the first time no more problems with misophonia.
Misophonia has a lot to do with one's own (in our case very very pronounced) need for autonomy - it is always about closeness and distance and it is very important for us to work on the one hand with the subconscious (hypnotherapy!!!) and on the other hand with the conscious - by this I mean to live one's own autonomy in the best possible way, to learn to be able to separate oneself from things that do not do one good! Here, an appropriate psychotherapist helps very well!
Treatment of misophonia is a PROCESS and IS POSSIBLE!!! I would never have believed that before!
And Michael Sommerfeld is an angel! You just, as I said, must not believe that everything is good with one session. Keep at it and it will get better!:-)
