From the advice on possible destinations in the pandemic, to the planning of the itinerary, to the organization on site a perfect "all around happy package" what IT'S YOUR TRIP offered us.
We were in March 2022 for three weeks in Cambodia on the road and now I finally get to bring the impressions of our Cambodia trip "virtually" on paper...
Overall, we had a really great trip that left many fantastic memories.
We were incredibly lucky with our guide and driver, two incredibly nice attentive people.
What impressed me the most was how open-hearted and infectious our guide Mr. Sothy could laugh despite his really crass life story, which he confided to us in parts during the course of the trip.
Also Ta Prohm at sunset immersed in golden light was for me once again a very special highlight and Angkor with so few tourists to share is certainly priceless for all eternity!
There were really many great moments but the most beautiful ones are usually the ones you don't expect...
To write down all of them would certainly go beyond the scope, but those that have burned themselves into my memory really sustainable, I want to share here in any case.
For example, the spontaneous situation that arose at the Tonle Sap lakes not only souvenirs to buy, but also notebooks and pens for them school children, which we were then allowed to distribute in the village. Such a thing can be quite critical, but here we really had the impression that the help was appropriate and welcome, because our guide obviously knew the village community for many years.
I was also deeply impressed by the workers in the salt fields near Kampot. In my free time, I practice barbell training quite ambitiously and therefore, of course, I wanted to try to carry two full salt baskets myself once and the bitter truth is that I could lift them with maximum effort just 10 cm from the ground, but could never have taken a step with them... whereby, mind you, the carrier, who does this up to 100 times a day, just reached my shoulders. This has really demanded maximum respect for what the workers here every day and I will never again use salt as thoughtlessly as before.
The really most beautiful unplanned event happened on Koh Rong. It was thunderstorm mood and the sky colored yellowish at first... this then apparently coincided with the sunset and triggered a color spectacle in the sky, which I have never seen so... the sky was squeaky pink and I was speechless for seconds! And that is rare ;)
This was followed by a real downpour and then thousands of mayflies appeared in the light of the restaurant as if hundreds of fairies dance around you... Two toke geckos and a toad had obviously just been waiting for this and have properly filled their bellies.
Thank you for this unforgettable trip and the great memories!
After the trip is known before the trip, so on to new adventures :)
