After the birth of my first child in October 2021, I had severe pain all over my body. I thought that these were still all after-effects of the birth. However, these did not get better with time, but worsened significantly. It started with pain in the back, wrist, hip and knee. Then it continued with pain in the elbow, finger joints and toes. It got to the point where I made an appointment with my family doctor, but unfortunately he couldn't find anything wrong and gave me a prescription for physical therapy. Appointments were made, but I could not see any improvement. So I made another appointment with my family doctor, who then referred me directly as an emergency patient to a rheumatologist. Here I had an appointment within two days due to the fact that I am a nursing mother. The rheumatologist was able to check me from top to bottom, various tests were performed, my blood was examined and X-rays were taken. However, he did not have a diagnosis/findings, but rather I was told to take a painkiller daily, which supposedly would be safe for the baby. However, THAT was definitely NOT an option for me, as I was still fully breastfeeding my baby. On the Internet, I accidentally came across the topic of breastfeeding rheumatism and then made an appointment with my gynecologist, she could not do anything with the term and had to enter this once in Google to read up on what this is. Overwhelmed, she looked at me - I asked her that she could perhaps check my hormone status. Here came as an answer only: "Yes, but you have to pay that privately out of your own pocket". I thought to myself "if no one will help me, then I will help myself" and of course I paid the costs. But everything was ok with my hormone status. In the meantime, my pain was so severe that I could hardly lift my baby out of the crib at night to nurse, or had severe pain in my feet, legs and hips that even walking was almost impossible.
Then I contacted my midwife, she was aware of the term breastfeeding rheumatism and said that this phenomenon occurs in some moms after giving birth. No one knows why, but she didn't have a real explanation either and gave me the tip to sign up for a lecture with Jennifer in the light world. I was lucky and could still get a free place.
The lecture was so interesting and exciting. So much information that I took home and a lot of "aha moments". I was really excited and made an appointment afterwards for a personal consultation with Jennifer, where my personal situation was directly addressed. I told her about my ailments and my marathon of doctors. I felt very comfortable from the beginning, Jennifer took my complaints for serious and I realized that I am in the right place and FINALLY someone can help me.
She was able to explain everything to me, why I have this pain, the correlations and what causes it. I took notes and also got a handout with a summary a few days after our meeting. I followed Jennifer's suggestions and tips in the future and banned some foods piece by piece that were not doing me any good.
And yes, what can I say: I felt better day by day. I noticed how the pain was gradually leaving my body. I felt really good and finally had enough energy again.
I am very grateful that I came across Jennifer and I am really surprised that it can be so easy in the end.
