"If we can make a person happier and more cheerful, we should do it in any case, whether they ask us to or not."
A quote from Hermann Hesse - my hero of words! - It summarizes in one sentence what I have been pursuing for years as my personal motto in life. How nice to know that there are people who have similar priorities! People like Dr. Hofheinz.
I rarely write reviews, but today I'm making an exception. An exception to write a well-deserved ode to my personal hero of surgery.
Dr. Holger Hofheinz from the Klinik am Rhein, who fearlessly and far from any greed for profit, with great sensitivity, patience, skill, commitment and optimistic ambition, took up the challenge of declaring war on my ageing, always weak and heavy connective tissue and was ultimately able to give me back a big piece of happiness in life. I admit that I asked him to do it, but what he has achieved is something I would never have dared to hope for in my wildest dreams.
A look back:
After much thought and careful research, I decided to have a facelift including a temple lift, neck lift and lower eyelid lift in 2022.
Along the way, I had some frustrating encounters with doctors who didn't really want to take on this challenge.
I doubted, I resigned, I was sad and frustrated, after all I had asked the best. Reputable, high-priced plastic surgeons who were hyped by the media - and I met with little support.
I was told: "Too much work, too little chance of success, not economically viable etc. etc."
It goes without saying that these experiences didn't necessarily help to boost my already battered self-esteem.
While I had danced serenely through the years with plump cheeks, sparkling eyes and a well-defined chin line during a thoroughly privileged life, the tide seemed to turn rapidly with the onset of the menopause and a few private strokes of fate.
Sad, tired eyes, drooping corners of the mouth and cheeks, a sagging neck - I was 54 and just got so old in the space of a few months.
A woman has to digest that first.
Just when I thought I would have to resign myself to my fate and age gracefully (which I would have liked to do, but without this sagging face), I met Dr. Hofheinz.
Blessed with exemplary sensitivity, infinite patience and obviously above-average empathy, he informed me after a detailed initial consultation that he was prepared to operate on me. I remember his statement well: "Any plastic surgeon can tighten a slim face, with you it will be a challenge and I love challenges!"
Yes, he loves a challenge and I love him for it ;-)
I liked and trusted Dr. Hofheinz from the very beginning. My trust was not to be disappointed!
Without exaggerating, I can say today that Dr. Hofheinz has given me a great gift. A gift that you can't put a price on in the world.
With his surgical skill, his ambition and his tireless pursuit of perfection, he has given me a new lease of life... Which brings us back to Hesse. I think that's what you call luck! :-D
I am myself again and even a better version of myself. Just last week a friend told me that I look better today than I did 10 years ago. Incidentally, this friend knows nothing about my procedure. Is there any greater compliment for my gifted surgeon?
By the way, last year I put myself in Dr. Hofheinz's hands again and had a tummy tuck including liposuction + renuvion lift performed by him - and I couldn't be happier with the result. He has conjured up a long-awaited hourglass silhouette for me! Priceless!
Thank you Dr. Hofheinz, we will definitely see each other again!
