The time in the "castle," as we patients soon all called it, was a special experience for me. It went far beyond what I had hoped for from my stay at the clinic. After the care and death of both parents, I came to the clinic with burnout and a depressive mood. I just wanted to regain my strength and have "my normal life" back. The approach of personal medicine quickly convinced and inspired me. The lively and creative mix of depth psychological discussion groups and individual therapy, the finest art therapy (for me personally, bibliotherapy was a discovery), the attentive, humane and often humorous care by the co-therapists, as the nurses are appropriately called, and the solidarity among us patients reawakened in all of us the most beautiful and vital things that we carry inside us. We were able to look respectfully at our personal life stories and to change the life sentences that were not conducive. Many discovered new things for themselves, such as photography, art or theater, which we could take home with us. The possibility to deal with nature, garden, medicinal herbs and park design in the group Planten und Blomen is something special. The interplay of body, soul and spirit in healing processes was always in focus. I had very, very bad experiences with hospitals when accompanying my parents. It was a real discovery that there are clinics that are so different, humane, intelligent and work as a team to try to find a way with people who have fallen into a problematic situation in life to turn their own lives around in a positive way! The beautiful park around the clinic, the sutsche flowing Stepenitz directly in front of our windows, cranes and nightly visits of foxes do their part to feel comfortable and at home. Of course, the food must also be mentioned, that's how it should be and yes! The food is also very tasty, healthy and the team in the kitchen phenomenally friendly. If you like cream pies, you just have to log off and make a trip. I can say that I took away more than "my old life" going back to the way it was before. Something new has been added that I no longer want to miss.
