The all-round care package perfectly presented!
We have requested Mr. Ludwig and Mr. Maus of the Pink Panta Band in December for our wedding in August 2014 via Eventpeppers and immediately had the first positive experience: feedback incl. offer within 24 hours! That is extremely professional and unfortunately not at all standard in this industry (all other bands requested here took between 4 and 14 weeks for a first response).
Due to the fact that we had never seen the band live before booking and only a few reviews were listed here in December, we had to rely on their Youtube videos and some phone calls for the booking - with a correspondingly queasy feeling (keyword: Once in a lifetime ;-)
To anticipate: Completely wrong! Great musicians, perfect show, professional handling, a thousand thanks!!!
Now to the details: The band and their show was the best I have ever seen at a private event (and I have seen a lot of light and shadow... ).
As a one-stop shopping solution, the band provided us with.
1. the background music for the church wedding. Great and really emotional performance including rehearsing all my wife's special requests. A guitarist/keyboardist, a singer and a violin including the sound system to sound a really big cherry (the church organ did not have one use). If Pink Panta's booking had ended here, there would have been the same rating.
2. nora jones... or a singer who might look like her but in any case has the same breathtaking voice (sorry, forgot name but Mr. Maus will know who it was) Definitely ask! She accompanied with a guitarist the reception in our evening location "unplugged". I was actually approached by several guests who thought Nora Jones came from CD...
3. 5-piece party band that rocked the house for four hours from 10pm to 2am. Great repertoire from old party classics to current (dance) chart hits. Many cover bands play interpretations that take some getting used to - not this one! It almost always sounded like the original. Especially with current songs this is usually noticeable. Besides "Nora" we had a great singer (the one from the church; also be sure to ask) as well as an extra saxophonist. Keyboard, guitar, sure.
4. a really good DJ, who seamlessly bridged all short breaks of the band, so that the party had no collapse.
5. a light- and (even more important) a sound-technician, who took care of the perfect sound and the continuous mixing to the location.
6. PA technology at its best, powerful basses, clear mids, no distortion of the highs in other words: real boom without whistling in the ears the next morning. Lighting technology like at big live concerts (of course not so numerous and without video wall ;-).
...so the all-round carefree package presented perfectly!
So, enough of the praise, one point of improvement has everyone: The light show remained slightly behind my expectations. The light technician provided by the external technology company interpreted his role more as a set-up and dismantling helper instead of as an active operator of the actually great lighting system (except me, no one noticed).
Conclusion: I would definitely book the Pink Panta Band again for private and business events and recommend them to my friends with a clear conscience (needless to say, they were all there). The price-performance ratio is probably hard to top.
