Dr. Sarraga was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where he spent the majority of his life. Dr. Sarraga after that finished a complete general surgery residency at the Universty of Puerto Rico, where he was recognized as intern of the year during his internship year. While training at the oncologic hospital, he was first revealed to breast reconstruction. Soon after he decided that plastic surgery was his calling. Dr. Sarraga then went North to finish his plastic surgery residency at the prestigious University of Massachusetts in New England. Throughout his last year of training, he was again recognized as Administrative Chief Resident amongst his peers. Throughout his plastic surgery residency, Dr. Sarraga trained with the top aesthetic plastic surgeons in Boston learning the most up to date techniques in Facial plastic surgery, rhinoplasty, body contouring and fat grafting.

Dr. Sarraga then became interested in the healing and reconstructive properties of human fat cells and decided to pursue some additional training with professionals in the developing field of fat grafting and fat transfers This included Dr. Daniel Delvecchio. Stemming from this interest, Dr. Sarraga did extra clinical research on fat grafting for reconstruction of the breast, a topic that he has presented several papers on at international meetings. After finishing his residency Dr. Sarraga was nominated as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Massachusetts.

Fascinated by eyelid surgery and its complex anatomy and physiology, Dr. Sarraga after that pursued a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Pascale Perusse, a prominent surgeon with over 25 years of experience and an expert in the field.
