The Association of German Gunsmiths and Firearms Dealers (VDB) was founded in 1949. It currently has over 1,600 member companies. As an association, we see ourselves as an interface association for the civilian weapons industry. Our core target... group is the gunsmiths and specialist firearms dealers who sell the products of the manufacturers and wholesalers to all target groups in the industry. Customers of the specialized gun trade are e.g. hunters, sport shooters, collectors of historical weapons, paintballers and airsoft players, reenactment actors, film/TV actors, but also every buyer of free defense products. We are talking about an annual customer frequency of up to 10 million people.
Of course, the VDB is an interest group (professional and trade association). We represent the interests of the firearms retail trade of all business forms and sizes, support our members and educate them. We are the central point of contact for politics, the media and society and carry out lobbying work in Berlin and Brussels. At the same time, we are available to all with our expertise and answer all questions about our industry - whether economic/legal framework conditions, firearms law requirements or market information.
