Hello everyone,
I would like to take this opportunity to praise the entire team at Energie Karlstadt. Our PV system has been in operation since 01.02.2024. We are very satisfied and thought it was time to give some feedback.
Advice:
We have to admit that we have already collected a few offers from market competitors over the last few years. We can therefore already assess some of the procedures well.
Mr. Seidel provided very competent advice regarding photovoltaics for our individual needs, weighing up the costs and benefits for us. Mr. Seidel took several hours for this and also recorded and documented all relevant data (rafter spacing, roof structure, roof pitch, tiles, cable route, location of the inverter, sub-distribution). In addition, the roof was inspected with a drone. Much more time was invested here than with the market competitors who only used Google Maps images and perhaps just asked about the roof pitch.
Quotation preparation:
Within a very short time, we had received a cost estimate that was very detailed and showed professionalism. Two days after receiving the quote, I had a phone call with Mr. Väth, who designed the system. While talking shop, we came up with a different system layout. Mr. Väth prepared another detailed offer for this. Based on this preliminary work, we decided to have our PV system installed by Energie Karlstadt. We signed the contract at a personal meeting with Mr. Väth in mid-November. Subsequently, Mr. Väth was able to offer even more powerful German modules at the same price. We thought this was very nice and he didn't have to go to the trouble because the contract had already been signed.
Execution/installation:
Energie Karlstadt could have installed the PV system as early as 01.12.2023. This was a bit too short notice for us, as I still had to close two roof windows. The installation was therefore postponed until mid-January. Mr. Väth personally inspected all cable routes and installation sites before installation began and briefed the technicians in advance.
The roof installation of the modules was carried out by a subcontractor company, which was also communicated in advance. Despite the external circumstances (weather), they worked quickly and well. They checked in and out with us every day and discussed the progress on the roof with us and Energie Karlstadt.
The two fitters from Energie rebuilt the sub-distribution board, installed cable ducts and inverters. The Energie fitters worked very cleanly and quietly. You wouldn't have noticed them at all if they hadn't drilled the holes. The progress of the day and the coming days was also discussed with us. The construction site was left clean by all employees every evening and some of the packaging material was disposed of daily.

Finally, we would like to praise Mr. Emrich. Mr. Emrich made all the arrangements with us and internally in the background. He was always available for us, despite his day off. Once again, a big thank you for this. This goes far beyond the normal level that you can expect from an employee. We would work with Energie Karlstadt again at any time.

At the beginning of the year, we received a massive increase as a new customer, while existing customers (neighborhood) received no increase. This selective pricing makes us assume that we are financing the heating costs of existing customers.
Now we are supposed to pay an additional 1000 euros with a monthly discount of 300 euros even though we mostly heat with our tiled stove. In addition, prices have hardly been reduced despite a massive drop in purchase prices.
Last but not least, we submitted this complaint a month ago and customer service wanted to get in touch with us, but never did.
We are really happy to finally be able to switch at the end of the month and unfortunately cannot recommend Energie to anyone.

If a fitter demonstrably only carries out a repair (actually just cleaning work on a gas oven) for 25 minutes in the house, but a full hour is charged at €65 net plus a €12 net travel allowance for 3.5 km... that's €91.63 ... how can you explain that to a pensioner who has worked for €14.68 an hour?
It is a cheek and impertinence to charge that as a full hour. Shame on you!!!

New customers are systematically excluded and asked to pay increases. We had to pay over 1000 euros extra for 2023 because our electricity and gas prices were increased in January. Strangely enough, the prices were only increased for us and all the neighbors who have also been with the energy company for a long time did not get an increase. Bad and outrageous company which I cannot recommend under any circumstances.

I had a new expansion tank installed. Without consultation, unfortunately. If it has to be, then ok. It does not say so on the confirmation. But on the bill, and quite expensive. This could have been done better. Also that two men have worked, is nowhere.
