QROPS Transfer – Transferring a company pension from England to Germany.
Transferring a company pension from England to Germany is not a simple process and involves many pitfalls. I usually take on a lot, but this was just too risky for me. So I searched online for a company that could help me with this. Langer Financial Services caught my eye. Working with a financial services company is a matter of trust, so doing some due diligence beforehand (as thoroughly as possible) is very important.

Before contacting the company, I therefore conducted a few checks, such as:

1. Online reviews—genuine reviews.
2. I checked the company’s registration numbers; I didn’t follow the link provided on their website, but instead looked up online how to verify this information. This can be done through the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK): Intermediary Register pursuant to Section 11a(1) of the German Trade Regulation Act (GewO) – Bremen Chamber of Commerce – IHK for Bremen and Bremerhaven

So far, so good. I then got in touch with them. During our conversation, I was told that they work with, among others, Alte Leipziger Versicherung. Naturally, I immediately checked the Alte Leipziger Versicherung website to see if the company was listed there. Here is the link: https://www.alte-leipziger.de/kontakt/experte-vor-ort. It was/is listed.

3. The next check I performed was to verify whether Alte Leipziger was, as stated, approved as a Qualifying Recognized Overseas Pension Scheme (QROPS). I obtained the information myself via the website www.gov.uk and did not follow any links to ensure that the information was accurate.

So everything was correct. The credibility of Langer Financial Services was also confirmed later during the transfer process by Royal London, who informed me that they had worked with Langer Financial Services on numerous occasions. The company is well-known.

My advisor was Mr. Simon Langer, Senior Consultant. I must say I was very satisfied with the service. The process couldn’t have been simpler or less stressful for me. He knows his stuff, is very professional, and we also got along well on a personal level. He managed the transfer process and took care of everything for me. The collaboration was excellent.
