We had the pleasure of welcoming Richard Seidl as a speaker at the Istanbul Software Testing Conference (ISTC) in both 2025 and 2026. On both occasions, he received excellent feedback from our participants.

At ISTC 2026, Richard also recorded podcast conversations with several of our speakers and with me. These added real value to the conference, giving our speakers another opportunity to share their ideas and helping us bring the story behind ISTC to a wider audience.

Richard’s passion for software engineering and quality comes through in his work. He connects easily with people and is a pleasure to collaborate with. I highly recommend him as both a conference speaker and a podcast host, and would be delighted to work with him again.

Richard Seidl takes a refreshingly holistic view of software quality. In our joint podcast at OOP on the topic of diversity in software development, it became very clear that good software isn’t created solely through technical excellence, but also through effective collaboration, diverse perspectives, and the right team environment.

I found Richard to be a highly knowledgeable yet open-minded conversation partner who combines in-depth expertise with a genuine interest in new perspectives. I particularly appreciated how quickly we moved from discussing individual experiences to addressing the broader questions surrounding quality, teams, and software development.

Richard invited me to join his podcast recently (12JUL2026), and it was a genuinely great experience.

What impressed me most was how effortless everything felt. Behind the scenes, I’m sure there was a lot of preparation and technical work, but none of it was visible during the recording—that’s a hallmark of real professionalism.
The conversation flowed naturally, the questions were well thought out, and it felt more like chatting with colleagues than giving an interview. It was clear Richard had prepared thoroughly, while still keeping the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.
In an environment like this, giving an interview becomes surprisingly easy.

It's always a great pleasure to meet Richie and be part of his podcast. He is one of the few people who perfectly blend very high professionalism in his field with a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
I know him mostly from our podcast episodes, yet his questions and the discussions we had, show a very deep understanding of and passion for quality, especially in software-engineering, and everything that connects to that.

I first met Richard Seidl through his podcast “Software Testing.” The topic: how IT security in accordance with IEC 62443-4-1 can be practically integrated into development processes, and how M&M Software uses the standard to embed secure software development not as an obligation, but as a genuine quality improvement in everyday practice.
I came to know Richard as an expert with in-depth, highly professional knowledge in quality assurance, and for whom it is particularly important to share the concept of quality with a broad audience. He tackles even complex topics and presents them in a way that makes them accessible to anyone interested.
It was a great pleasure to work with Richard Seidl, and I highly recommend him.

I’ve rarely met anyone who explains complex testing topics as clearly and thoroughly as Richard (Richie) Seidl. No boring PowerPoint presentations—just real-world examples from actual projects. What really stood out to me: Richie listens, asks the right questions, and tailors his content to the participants’ level.

That’s not something to be taken for granted. His content on test automation and AI in testing is well-founded, practical, and free of buzzword bingo. You can tell right away: this is someone who’s actively involved in projects himself. If you take software quality seriously, Richie is exactly the right person for you.

I truly enjoyed my conversation with Richard. It was relaxed, natural and very easy to follow. What impressed me the most was how effortlessly he combined a friendly, informal tone with deep expertise. In every question he asked and every topic we discussed, you could clearly feel his extensive experience and strong understanding of QA and testing practices.
