also defended: inheritance and gifts, equalization of marital gains in divorce proceedings, shareholder disputes and buyouts, insolvency and restructuring, financing and bank submissions, as well as business sales.
Our methodology is based on IDW S 1 (as amended in 2026), supplemented in family law matters by IDW S 13 and relevant Federal Court of Justice (BGH) case law. We also adhere to the GACVA Professional Standards.
What Sets Us Apart
Founder Oliver Sonntag (M.Sc.) held executive board responsibilities at a medium-sized industrial company for twelve years prior to founding Surion—meaning he was not merely reviewing plans but was directly responsible for them: sales, margins, investments, and restructuring. This is precisely where most valuations fail: not because of the calculations, but because of planning assumptions that do not hold up to operational reality. We therefore assess the plausibility of plans from an operational perspective, not simply by extrapolating data series.
Professionally, Oliver Sonntag is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA, NACVA) and a member of the EACVA. Surion is not an auditing firm and does not act as one.
How We Work
– The valuation concept and methodology are clarified on a case-by-case basis before accepting an engagement
– Assumptions, the capitalization rate, beta factor, and sensitivities are derived and disclosed
– Upon request, we provide oral explanations in court, to the arbitral expert, or during settlement negotiations
– Fixed price per engagement, with a binding commitment to deliver
– Direct contact with the lead appraiser throughout the entire process; no handoffs to junior staff
For Tax Advisors and Law Firms
We handle the valuation; you retain the client. We do not broker transactions and do not profit from the outcome—only from its robustness.
Initial consultation: 30–45 minutes, online, free of charge.
What sets us apart:
Unlike traditional M&A advisors, we charge no transaction-based closing fees. Our transparent pricing model includes fixed project fees and per-introduction costs—saving our clients up to 85% compared to conventional success-fee structures.
Unlike self-service databases, we don’t just provide data—we facilitate qualified conversations with decision-makers who are genuinely open to discussing a transaction.
Our focus: European Mittelstand companies (€2M–€50M in revenue) across DACH, Benelux, France, and the Nordics—with particular expertise in manufacturing, industrial services, healthcare, and B2B technology.
