It was my first master’s-level lecture with him. Keeping a group motivated all day long when it’s 35 degrees outside is a real art! When I think back to my bachelor’s program, very few instructors managed to do that :) I especially appreciated the freedom to develop ideas, as well as his feedback after each presentation. The course was well-structured and left everyone feeling very positive, even when he offered suggestions for improvement. These were so well-phrased that we were happy to take them on board! It also showed us that there are multiple approaches to solving problems and that it’s worth thinking “outside the box” every now and then. Some instructors, for example, strictly want to hear their own points. With Florian, it’s different—that was a refreshing change! And it gave us more courage to look at models from different perspectives. Plus: During the group projects, we were able to work together really well, thanks in part to his support. He brought that certain “fun factor” to the work and also gave us new food for thought right in the middle of it all. That was really cool! We achieved great results.
At times during the discussion of the results, there were, in my opinion, too many repetitions of certain topics. Personally, I think some points could have been covered a bit more concisely, but that’s just my opinion :) . Still, the insights were very interesting! With the heat, though, it was a little hard afterward to take everything in 100%. But the most important things stuck with me!
I think it’s a shame I won’t be taking another class with him. Rarely have I gotten so much out of just 2.5 days!
One more small point, though: the slides were good, but for some topics it was hard to keep track of which slides corresponded to the content… meaning matching the content to the slides. I found the material developed “live” and verbally on the flipcharts to be significantly more instructive than some of the slides! It would be nice to document that even better in the follow-up. Without good notes, it would be a bit of a shame, since the exceptionally good content was on the audio track! (Luckily, I took diligent notes :) )
I can say with a clear conscience that this module also contributed a great deal to my personal and professional development, and I’m happy to take its insights with me and try to integrate them into my daily life!
In hindsight, I would have liked to have taken the opportunity to exchange ideas with the instructor a bit more. But that was due to my own time constraints rather than his unwillingness to do so! I think it’s great that he offers the option to get in touch—even after the lecture!
A direct message to Florian: truly a great course—I learned a lot and would love to have you back! You were a very informative yet entertaining instructor! I’ll remember you jumping on the table for a long time whenever the topic of boldness and recklessness comes up 😂
About the survey: there were a few questions that were hard to answer since the exam hasn’t taken place yet. Especially the last one, “Cost-benefit ratio.” I hope the 5* rating works out in the end 😉
Warm regards from Molfsee

P.S.: Sorry for the spelling mistakes in some places. I just quickly typed my thoughts into my phone. I wanted my feedback to be authentic 🙈 I hope it’s still readable 😂😂
