I was looking for a reputable clinic for trifocal lens surgery. During my online search, I came across the Health Travel agency. On the spur of the moment, I reached out to them via the Health Travel contact platform. A very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman named Mathias Weber called me just two days later. We spoke on the phone, and he answered every single one of my many questions. After a few days and some brief consideration, I decided to have trifocal lens implantation at the Veni Vidi Göz Clinic in Istanbul.
Scheduling the appointment was quick and straightforward.
Health Travel organized the hotel and airport transfer. I only had to take care of the flights to Istanbul.

On the day of arrival, my husband (as my companion) and I were picked up right on time at Istanbul Airport.

Check-in at the 5-star Hotel Selectum City was straightforward. We even got a double room on the 17th floor with a sea view.
A great hotel with high standards, a delicious breakfast, and clean, beautiful rooms.

The next day, we were picked up on time by a private shuttle service at the agreed-upon time and taken to the Veni Vidi Göz Clinic. The excitement was building.
We were greeted by Mr. Adem Ergürsel. Adem was very friendly, spoke perfect German, and was thoroughly familiar with the process, which gave me a good and reassuring feeling.

Many preliminary examinations followed, and finally, there was the pre-operative consultation with Dr. Akin Akyurt. A very personable, German-speaking, empathetic, and competent ophthalmologist who assured me that everything would go well and that we could proceed with the first trifocal lens surgery.
Dr. Akyurt competently answered all remaining questions.

Now it was time to go to the operating room. My nerves started to rise again.
I was given a sedative beforehand, which made me a little drowsy.
I was fitted with a sterile surgical cap and a surgical gown. Dr. Akyurt was already waiting for me in the operating room, and the surgical team quickly began administering the anesthetic drops to my first eye. The surgery itself was painless.
Just minutes later, Dr. Akyurt said everything had gone well and the lens was sitting perfectly.

I was discharged from the operating room and taken back to the hotel by shuttle service.
Adem Ergürsel explained to me how to use the eye drops.
That day, I slept a lot and spent the rest of the day relaxing at the hotel.
The next day brought a big surprise. I was allowed to remove the bandage and could already see really well out of the first eye that had been operated on.
My husband and I were picked up again at the agreed time by the private shuttle and taken to the Veni Vidi Göz Clinic. Adem greeted us warmly.
The first follow-up examination took place, and everything was to the complete satisfaction of Dr. Akyurt and me.

Time for sightseeing in Istanbul.
The shuttle bus took us to Kadiköy, and we had the day to ourselves. I could already see really well with the first eye that had been operated on. Of course, I had to remember to apply the drops every hour.
A wonderful, exciting day came to an end.

The next morning, right on time at the agreed-upon hour, we were picked up again and taken to the Veni Vidi Göz Clinic.
It was time for the second eye.
The same procedure in the operating room. Just a few minutes later, the second eye had also been operated on painlessly, and the trifocal lens was implanted.
I spent the rest of that day relaxing at the hotel.

The next day brought a magnificent surprise. When I removed the bandage, I could already see very clearly with both eyes.
At the agreed-upon time, we were picked up again on time and taken to the Veni Vidi Göz Clinic.
The second follow-up examination was performed. Everything was to the complete satisfaction of Dr. Akyurt and me. Dr. Akyurt assured me that my vision would improve a little more each day, and Dr. Akyurt and Adem said goodbye to me.

Once again, we were able to explore Istanbul. There was so much to discover.

The next day, the shuttle service took us to Istanbul Airport, and we flew home.

It was such a wonderful experience with the Health Travel agency, which organized everything perfectly for me; Mr. Adem Ergürsel, who explained everything clearly and put me at ease; and, last but not least, Dr. Akin Akyurt, who was a master of his craft and performed the surgeries flawlessly.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved who gave me a new lease on life without glasses.

We stayed in touch even after the surgery, and I could ask questions at any time and always received quick advice, help, and tips on aftercare.
Today, two years later, I am very happy with the results and feel much better than before. I would do it again in a heartbeat—it was absolutely the right decision.

Everything was perfectly organized, from the initial contact to the successful eye surgery. From the transfer to the personal care on site, everything went smoothly. A really great team, both in the clinic and the care provided by Adem on site and in the organization and consultation phase by Clemens Weber. The post-operative care is also excellent. Questions are answered quickly and in detail. Unfortunately, I have had other experiences. This was my 2nd HT here and due to my bad experience with my 1st HT in another clinic, I decided to go with Health Travels this time, which was definitely the right decision. I can therefore only recommend Health Travels!

Everything was very well organized. From the pick-up at the airport to the hotel and the pick-up to the clinic. The supervisors Adem Ergürsel and Matthias Weber were very nice and helpful.
The doctor, Dr. Akin Akyurt, is very competent and also spoke very good German.
The operation was a complete success and I can now see very well without glasses.

I did a lot of research beforehand and also had my hair situation assessed in Germany. What convinced me about Health Travels was the competent, unobtrusive advice from Mr. Weber. He was also the only one to deal intensively with possible further hair loss by asking about hair loss in my family and, in my opinion, gave me the most realistic information about the likely outcome. The costs are higher compared to the cheap providers in Turkey, but it was worth it to me. Once I was there, I felt confident in my decision. The on-site support from Adem was first-class and the operation by Dr. Hakan's team was also very satisfactory. I can't say anything about the result yet, as I'm only at the beginning of the second week, but I'm currently very happy with my decision and am looking forward to the final result in a few months' time.

The organization, the preliminary information and all areas around the surgery were excellent. But nothing comes close to the performance of Dr. Akın Akyurt, who has a wonderful way of dealing with patients, doesn't make promises he can't keep and puts his heart and soul into his patients. I was very satisfied with everything! We were given a very friendly welcome, every step was explained to us in detail and our fears were allayed. If anything was unclear, our interpreter Adem was always at our side and explained everything to us.
