I have been able to experience Pamela Lorenz twice as part of offerings from HAW Hamburg's CareerService. Once before the pandemic in persona and once today and yesterday via the online workshop "Die eigene Beratungskompetenz
extend". Both times it gave me and the other participants exciting insights in an entertaining and interactive way. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the great seminar guidance at eye level, all the experience passed on and the extremely detailed accompanying material with a lot of additional information on 133 pages and to repeat once again what we students and alumni already praised today in the feedback round:
Our expectations were exceeded!
In my specific case, the expectation was to reactivate and expand existing consulting knowledge. I got a stimulating exchange with her and partly very exciting participants, who approached the topic from the most different professional and consulting areas, from and with whom I could work and learn well. This was done through a very well structured lecture that weaved in our prior experiences, questions and resources we brought with us. Ms. Lorenz took us very seriously, very much in the systemic sense, as people with pre-existing experiences. Step by step we discussed the different stages of a consultation and also reflected on what makes a good consultation and a good setting. Particularly valuable were the integrated practice opportunities in small groups of three people: Counselor, client and observer (as well as Ms. Lorenz, who visited the individual groups) as well as the reflections in the whole group. Thus, I not only received good professional knowledge, but was also able to broaden my personal horizon, develop enthusiasm for systemic questioning techniques, get to know new materials and methods, as well as gain a lot of self-confidence in my consulting skills, which I would now like to further develop!
Last but not least, like all of us, I was able to learn from the wealth of experience of a consultant who has been working successfully in a wide variety of contexts for many years.
I have come to know and appreciate Ms. Lorenz as a very attentive and authentic person with a lot of sensitivity, humor, diligence, intelligence and multi-layered expertise.
And now I look forward to experiencing her as a client in a personal counseling setting next month. I am very sure that she will support me well in analyzing my problem in a complex way and working out the best possible ways in a direction that is good for me. In addition, I am of course very much looking forward to looking at the consulting process from a professional point of view as well and thus being able to cognitively examine and emotionally experience a best practice example.
All workshop participants were offered this opportunity.
Thank you very much!
