RIWO company review
We are happy and extremely satisfied with the 10-corner pavilion 2.70 m x 3.70 m from the ROMANTICA range, which was delivered by RIWO's own specialists at the beginning of June 2024 and set up in our garden. From the consultation and selection to the assembly, everything was perfect. Thankfully, the owner, Mr. Wolf, advised us well and patiently, openly and always honestly in all details and also answered our questions between ordering and delivery quickly and in detail, so that we now like everything about the pavilion. Mr. Wolf takes care of everything personally, right down to the details, and he can rely on his specialist staff in both production and assembly. During assembly in our garden, the fitters handled the very heavy wall and roof elements like raw eggs, despite the difficult assembly conditions in the confined space. As a result, no damage occurred during the hours of assembly work. That was very impressive for us!
Back story: Garden sheds with the usual standard dimensions either didn't fit on the long and narrow building site in our garden or would have made very poor use of it or would have been extremely small inside. So we looked for a supplier of custom-made garden sheds. The first supplier we came across was one who, for more than a year, only ever made a little progress with the design and quotation and left us hanging for weeks in between (the boss was not available for simple customers like us) and who worked with a third-party company for the assembly, who first brought up a crane service when we asked about transporting the delivered parts to our garden without access and then didn't reply for months.
Fortunately, we finally found the RIWO company on the Internet at the end of March this year, visited their showroom in Hunsrück and were personally advised by the owner, Mr. Gerrit Wolf, in great detail about all the available options. He took his time and patiently answered all our questions on the spot. The very next day, we received his fixed price quotation for manufacture, delivery and installation, and he was already able to give us an estimated delivery time, which in the end was even shorter. Mr. Wolf had us describe in detail the difficult conditions to be expected when transporting the wall and roof elements, but immediately declared all problems to be solvable (without an expensive crane!) and included them in the fixed price.
What a relief after the disappointment with the other supplier!
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wood selection and processing already visible in the exhibition and the flexibility of the model variants. Even though the different series each represent a modular system with fixed wall element dimensions, the number of model variants that can be achieved is astonishingly large and makes it possible to fulfill a wide variety of wishes. Each wall element is constructed with round posts on the sides, allowing the wall elements to be assembled at any angle. This ingenious design means that the same wall elements can be used to build 6-corner, 8-corner, 10-corner and 12-corner pavilions in round, semi-circular and oval shapes. On the other hand, the standardization of the wall elements enables relatively inexpensive production despite the relatively large variability. In each series, you can also choose from many different color variants and equipment such as copper rain gutters, light shelves, shelves and window sills with depth as desired as well as high-quality fly screen blinds.
The way the cables are laid throughout the pavilion is also ingenious. We opted for light shelves running all around the interior above head height, in which cables can be laid invisibly. This not only allows us to use the lighting system from the tried-and-tested manufacturer Hera to create a pleasant light from LED spotlights in each wall element, which can be dimmed by radio remote control and whose light color can be changed from warm white to cool white, but also to have sockets installed inside and outside. The cables were laid invisibly and individually according to our wishes up to the roof ridge (hidden between the rafters) and down to the bottom (hidden between the posts). The costs for this were also included in the fixed price offer. We only had to have the sockets and other lights installed by an electrician.
Due to the elongated shape of the building site in our garden, we chose an oval pavilion that makes the best possible use of the building site and was "embedded" so beautifully between a maple tree and a holly tree that had been cut into shape that it looked so beautiful straight after being erected, as if it had always been there and the trees had grown around it! We were immediately impressed! We particularly like the proportions between the rather delicate door and window frames and the resulting large window panes, which allow a lot of light into the pavilion and a relatively unobstructed view of the garden. Despite the delicate design, everything looks very stable. The door and windows open and close perfectly; nothing jams or is stiff. The additional thermal insulation we chose for the roof has already proved its worth on the first few hot days. With the windows closed, it was a maximum of three degrees warmer inside than outside. Cross-ventilation means that any heat build-up is quickly aired out; the fly screen blinds keep insects out.
After a long search, we made the right decision! We had hardly dared to hope for that!
All in all, we are happy and grateful for Mr. Wolf's prompt and helpful responses to our questions and requests and, ultimately, for the great result.
