A very nice stay in a pleasant atmosphere. Full marks—and it’s well deserved. I’ve rarely seen such a warm and welcoming host who takes such loving care of his guests. There is one tiny criticism, though—but it in no way detracts from the overall impression: the butter at breakfast was just a tiny bit too hard :)

We were completely satisfied with our stay at the Oberthal School Camp. From the very beginning, we felt very welcome and well taken care of. The entire team is exceptionally friendly, helpful, and easygoing—you can really tell that they put a lot of dedication into their work.

The facilities were clean and well-maintained, the organization ran smoothly, and we really enjoyed the meals. We especially appreciated the pleasant, warm atmosphere and the flexibility on-site. Requests and questions were always addressed quickly and with a focus on finding solutions.

The location and the activities available around the Schullandheim are also ideal for groups and shared activities. Overall, everything was just right for us.

A big thank you to the entire team at the Schullandheim Oberthal for the wonderful hospitality. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place and would love to come back!

We've been coming to the school camp every year for more than 10 years and love the pleasant atmosphere. The food is unbeatable! Thank you very much, and see you next year.

I always enjoy coming back here. The staff is very friendly, everything is clean and well-maintained, and they’re quick to help if there are any problems. As for amenities, everything you could possibly need is here, including a washing machine and dryer. The food is great! They even have honey from their own bees.

Unfortunately, the buildings look a bit drab; the hallways and rooms could use a splash of color, like in the now beautifully designed stairwells—so they’re working on that, especially the exterior facade.
The numerous “No” signs that greet guests on the digital display in the foyer always seem a bit off-putting.

I find the mattresses a bit too thin for adults, and since there’s only hard wood underneath, sleeping there for several days becomes exhausting. But of course, it’s sufficient for the actual target audience—the children.

Unfortunately, the on-site Wi-Fi is only available in very few places on the grounds; in three years, I’ve only been able to use it very sporadically for a few minutes at a time.

All of this is just nitpicking. I’d recommend this school camp to anyone. The surroundings are very beautiful; the forest is right next door and perfect for hiking. You can even hike to the nearest swimming pool.

Our stay at the Obertal school camp was simply wonderful! The accommodations were clean and cozy, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was also excellent—it was delicious, varied, and fresh. The beautiful surroundings and the varied program made our stay an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend it—we’d love to come back!

Highly recommended. Clean rooms with large bathrooms, great grounds with barbecue area, very good and delicious food. Kudos to the kitchen! We had various allergies and food intolerances in our group. That was absolutely no problem...alternatives were provided at all times. Thank you to the wonderful kitchen staff!

From the cleanliness to the facilities and quality of the food, everything is top notch and definitely recommendable

Fantastic food! Fresh, regional and prepared with love. Friendly and very sympathetic kitchen team. Super location and grounds. Roofed barbecue as a highlight. Top price-performance ratio. We would be happy to return.

The food is really delicious! The kitchen team is very friendly and even people with intolerances can be sure that they will get good food and that gluten intolerance, for example, is taken into account.
For longer stays and full rooms, I would like to see more regular cleaning, but when we mentioned this, all the rooms were cleaned the next day. Overall a very positive experience, we loved staying here!

Great outdoor area, delicious food and friendly staff

The food was great and plentiful.
However, the overnight stay in the hut village in October should be reconsidered. It was already very cold and as the sanitary facilities were separate, the children had to walk through the cold at night in their pyjamas - even to shower in the evening/morning. As a result, several of the kids had a cold after our stay. The hut village is definitely great from June to September!

We would like to thank you again for accommodating our individual arrival time. Many of our questions were answered in advance and Mrs. Görlinger was very patient. The kitchen staff were also very friendly and helpful.
When programming the bowling alley, written instructions on different options without the clock already ticking would be helpful.
A master key per teacher or at least per school class would be helpful.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much.

We have been coming back for years.
There may be a lack of single or double rooms for our adults 😊

We were with a 4th class at the Oberthal school hostel and both teachers and pupils were very satisfied all round! We would wholeheartedly recommend the Schullandheim and would come back in a heartbeat! From the beautiful grounds to the great program to the friendly team - we are thrilled! As 10 years ago, I was once again extremely satisfied. All my wishes were catered for and implemented to my complete satisfaction. Great team. Starting with the planning with Mr. May, the great food and the good service. I would celebrate there again at any time, as you can eat and talk in the hall and create a disco atmosphere in the foyer. Simply brilliant. Something for every guest. Thanks again for a great evening.
