The Contreras arrived yesterday and everything is in very good condition. The guitar was safely packed in its case and in a cardboard box - it survived the journey perfectly.

My first impression was that this is a great guitar from the somewhat old school of traditional instrument making. I tuned it with the old strings and compared it with my Lietz. I found that the Lietz sounded clearer and more transparent, while the Contreras had a more "mysterious" quality. Both guitars are fantastic, but very different. I finished the day by changing the strings on the Contreras.

The transformation in the morning was enormous. I could hardly believe my ears - the guitar still had its "mysterious" character, but its power had grown exceptionally. The basses were much stronger and deeper, while the trebles sounded with a sustain I've never heard on a classical guitar. Even in a dry room, the double bottom sounds amazing and makes me feel like I'm playing in a church. The power is huge without sacrificing the typical "Madrid" sound. The setup you did was perfect - thank you very much.

Without a doubt, this is the guitar of my life. Now I'm looking forward to the hundreds of hours of practicing to adapt my technique to the slightly wider fretboard before I go on tour in March.

A year ago, I visited Michelstadt and Vintage Guitar World with the intention of purchasing a 1982 Faustino Conde. Heiko was incredibly friendly and professional, having prepared seven beautiful guitars for me to try over several hours. I left with an amazing Faustino Conde guitar and fond memories of my time in the charming town of Michelstadt.
