I’ve been playing the piano for a year and a half now—mostly from sheet music, which I really enjoy. However, I’d like to be able to accompany songs on the piano without having to practice the songs endlessly.

Of course, that requires theory and practical exercises…
I find it fascinating how Melanie has structured the course. It’s very organized, with lots of mnemonics and, above all, pictures and symbols. This makes it very easy for me to grasp and remember the basics. Of course, I still have to practice—but with a lot of joy and structure.

Melanie builds up piano knowledge step by step in a very approachable way. It’s easy to follow along, which keeps you engaged. Her lessons are a real pleasure because you can see real progress. She also responds to her students’ questions. While the internet is flooded with short snippets of piano chords, Melanie offers a structured approach. It really pays off. I highly recommend her.

I worked my way through *Chords & Improvisation 1 and 2* with great enthusiasm. It got more interesting with every lesson, and the exercises and tips helped me make progress quite quickly. Of course, practice shouldn’t be neglected, but once the inversions “click,” you can choose a key and chords and start improvising (at first with a limited range of notes). These two courses have really brought me closer to my dream of playing the piano freely. Thank you so much, Melanie

Finally, practicing is fun again—it’s not just a chore! Melanie offers valuable tips in a charming way that you don’t get in traditional piano lessons. She responds personally and promptly to every email and encourages me to keep at it. Even after just a short time in the course, I sometimes don’t want to stop. That never happened to me before. It’s also the only online course I know of that provides sheet music for every exercise to help you understand and internalize the mechanics of playing the piano. Everything is explained very clearly; suitable even for beginners

I’m very pleased with her calm, gentle manner and how she explains everything in such detail. I never really understood how triads were derived before. But now, practicing the piano with Melanie, it’s a breeze. And the amazing thing is that during breaks between practice sessions, you actually internalize the fingerings so well that suddenly, just a day or two later, you’re playing better than before. Keep up the great work.

Easy to understand and user-friendly for learning to play the piano.

I came across your piano course on YouTube. What I liked about it was that you focused on creating harmonious and beautiful sounds. My experience was exactly as you described: as a teenager, you take piano lessons and play whatever pieces are in the piano method book. Play it in the next lesson, turn the page, and move on to the next piece. I stopped doing that after a short while, only to try again at age 45. Nothing had changed, so I stopped again—until now, at age 65, when I discovered your course and found exactly what I’d been looking for back then. I suddenly understand major thirds and minor thirds, and the sound you achieve with the chords inspires me. I’m still in the middle of the Chords and Pop Improvisation course, but I can really recommend this course to anyone who enjoys playing the piano.

So far, everything has made a very positive impression. It’s fun and offers a different approach than simply learning to play the piano “by sight” from sheet music. But ultimately, I won’t be able to give a proper evaluation until I’ve finished the lessons. Only then will it become clear whether I’ll be able to improvise “freely” on the piano without sheet music. But I remain optimistic and am looking forward to continuing to learn with Melanie.
