Klavier lernen mit Melanie

I've been playing the piano for a long time, since childhood, but unfortunately only from sheet music. Over the last few years, I've been taking lessons again. This was the first time I tried to gain a basic understanding of music theory. As a child, this had not interested me at all, I just wanted to "strum". However, I now realized that you simply can't make serious progress without these basics. I quizzed my teacher about chords, inversions, song accompaniment etc.. He did show me a few things, but it was probably due to the short time (30 to max. 45 minutes) of a lesson that the subject simply didn't get the time it deserved. Melanie's courses are the first time I've really got to grips with the subject. I went through the improvisation course I within a few weeks and am now improvising my way through all the major and minor scales. I also played meditative piano pieces, which I was able to memorize after a short time and improvise with the building blocks myself. I now even find it easier to practise classical pieces as I understand the harmonies better.
The course was a real enrichment for my life. I will now let what I have learned settle for a while, but will probably start course 2 soon.
Dear Melanie, how about a course on "song accompaniment"?

This course was absolutely worth it, I am now on module 4 and still highly motivated to continue. It teaches you the real tools of the trade in a very simple and memorable way. Everything builds on each other step by step and you can really do it, of course you have to practise ;) I've been going to music school for years but have only been frustrated so far. Here I am now getting the basics I wanted. So many thanks to Melanie for this work!

With Melanie I have found my way back to playing the piano! I find her recommendations and instructions WONDERFUL!

My experience with chords & Pop Impro 1 :
I am 77 and I started my "music career" independently with a keyboard 15 years ago. I learned to read music and learned to play the melodies from the instruction book that came with the keyboard. I positioned my left hand as shown in the textbook. There were chord names there, but that was completely irrelevant to me. I studied hard, learned - and soon forgot everything. Over time, I lost the fun of playing.
About two years ago, I became interested in what was being shown on YouTube. I learned how to build major and minor chords, watched a lot of music teachers and came across Melanie. I really liked the way she explained things and the interesting topics. At first I didn't go for Chords & Pop Impro 1 because "I knew it all." I tried to learn individual videos with Melanie, but it still took a long time to hit the chords correctly and quickly.
It took almost a year and there was no significant progress.
In the end, I decided on Chords & Pop Impro 1. And I am thrilled.
Module 1 has already systematized my knowledge.

Melanie has divided the chords into three groups in a logical, easy to remember and entertaining way.
I know what to do, how to repeat and practise effectively.
The learning is systematic, each lesson learned makes it easier to learn the next.
I also bought a workbook. The division of the chords and inversions into drawings and colors makes learning and practicing much easier, the book is very logical, aesthetically finished and functional on the music stand
I can highly recommend the seminar to anyone who wants to start their adventure with music, even if they already have basic knowledge and skills.

Shortly after I purchased the Chords & Pop Improvisation 2 course, I realized that I was missing the basics of Chords & Pop Improvisation 1. With your help, I was able to switch courses without any problems. I started the course but went on vacation in the meantime. Now that I'm back home, I can work intensively on the course. Afterwards I will certainly be able to give a correct evaluation. Thank you very much for your attention.

The combination of tutorials and working at your own pace with the workbook - I find it trend-setting.
Please also develop for "Black Keys".
Melanie's personality is also very motivating.

Hello Melanie,
I thought for a long time about whether I should start with course 1 or go straight to course 2. I've been playing the piano for 4 years and have been playing chords right from the start. Now I have dared to take the step of playing in a band and I often lack the idea of how I can enrich the songs melodically.
I decided to take course 2 and am totally thrilled. A new world has opened up to me from which I can now draw. My initial concerns that new chords like add9 and sus4 might be too much were completely unfounded. On the contrary, it offers me so much more freedom and supports what I can already do. I've already had a lot of AHA experiences in the course and it takes away my fear of improvising (and I'm only in module 2😄).
Playing is incredibly fun and I really like your course. It's very well structured, has the right tempo, you can keep up well, but it doesn't get boring either. I can highly recommend it, even as a direct entry into course 2.

Melanie's courses are very well structured. Some of the learning methods are a bit droll, such as the animal symbols. I was a bit skeptical at first, but these and other techniques are wonderful for getting what I've learned into my long-term memory.

After completing course I, I was already relatively confident with the basic chords. With regular practice, my fingering confidence in piano practice also increased. Every single lesson simply surprises with Melanie's ingenious approach and explanations :) The new chord variations in the Chords & Pop Improvisation 2 course are a great addition for varied piano playing. I'm definitely sticking with it because it's so much fun and increases my interest in playing the piano with every new lesson.

I started playing the piano two years ago (at 46). I had a bit of experience from childhood and learned with various u tube tutorials. Melanie's tutorials have always given me great practice time and new piano experiences. Now I have purchased the new course and so far I can really recommend it. With fifteen minutes of practice time a day, you can make good progress and I've already learned a lot about playing with chords. I'm already improvising a little and I think it sounds really good 😊. The first pop course gave me a basic framework for playing the piano. The second course builds on this very well, for example by taking up the rhythms and inversions again and applying them to the extended chords. I'm still at the beginning of the second course, but I can already say that I'm having a lot of fun learning the different fils. Melanie knows how to convey the content of the music very well.

Melanie has a very likeable way of explaining connections and presenting solutions. Sometimes she also uses linguistic symbols such as: "veal liver sausage and pork ham". This adds a touch of humor, which is very helpful.

I played the accordion as a child and now, as a pensioner, I have fulfilled my wish to learn the piano. However, I didn't just want to painstakingly practise pieces from sheet music, I wanted to be able to sit down at the piano and just play freely.
I looked for suitable courses on the internet and found Melanie on YouTube.
I was immediately impressed by her friendly manner. In the course "Chords & Pop Improvisation 1" I learned to play freely on the piano step by step and now I really enjoy playing the piano. Melanie can explain everything simply and clearly and has great mnemonic devices and good exercises that really help. I also completed the course "Improvising on the black keys". Here you learn new ways of improvising and at the end you can play a well-rounded improvisation on the piano that wows the audience.

The "Chords & Pop Improvisation 2" course continues seamlessly for me. As Melanie explains everything so well, you understand right from the start how to play the chords even more beautifully and you make progress very quickly. There are great power exercises, tips for improvising and, as a bonus, guided improvisations to copy. As with the other courses, the e-book is well done and you can also order it as a printed ring binder. I am totally thrilled and can only recommend Melanie's courses.
